Started holidays just in time to go to the
Monday game!
Pokemon lures will be great to attract the 20-30 yr olds ..... Can watch football and catch the Pokemon
The original Pokemon game came out when this age group was 7-13 and they are loving the return to their childhood. So if a group of them come down to the game hopefully a couple will become repeat Argo attendees ... Maybe even Argolifers !
As for the players and the 6 game IR ..... Is Owusu-Ansah really injured? Will the new guy replace him .....Buchanan? .... Edit : forget the first question as I have completed reading various posts here and found out Owusu-Ansahs pec is injured.... Hope he heals well .
Perfect game for Ricky to light it up ...... Hopefully Thorpe will be out of sorts and Milanovich/ Brady can win the coaching duel .
I think Stubler will be able to read Calvillos offense ......and I hope the crowd will be loud for the Defense .... I want the ALS to have a lot of procedure and offside penalties ..... I think they're good at those. and we, the fans, can take credit!

Argos should win but the Als always put heavy pressure on QB's ... and my confidence in Ray being protected and receivers getting open are not high.
If only there was a good way to lesson the pass rush ... {sigh}
Other CFL teams are having Pokemon promotions too:

As other teams are not having ticket problems like the Argos, if setup by the team yet again by the unfriendly media it will be seen as a gimmick?
So Pokemon talk has taken over the game day thread. Wonderful.
It's us vs the rest of the country
This Pokemon overkill is incredibly annoying, but I won't complain if it gets more people going to Argo games.
What am I missing with this Pokémon thing? Nothing, because I have a life!!! What happened to going out and enjoying the world without a friggin device to play stupid ass games. I'm glad this shit wasn't around when I was young.
It's a game that is making people
* Get up
* Go outside
* Walk around
* Explore interesting places
* Actually talk and socialize with other people
IMHO what this game has accomplished in the past couple of weeks is amazing compared to millions of other anti-social mobile games where the player just sits at home. You don't have to like the game, but you should be impressed that a mobile game actually has this effect of getting kids to get up and play outside.
Faster + Louder = Better
On my way to YVR to catch the red eye opting to leave the long johns at home. I hope this 32 degrees I'm hearing about is Celsius. If you see a sleep deprived geezer with a pale blue Argo tee and a pair of legs that look like they should come with fries at the tail gate that would be yours truly. Say hello and your pint is on me.
Looking forward to a great game and watching the Als get the severe beat down that they so richly deserve. 3-2-1- HIKE!
Holy crap 32 is nothing. Yesterday it hit 38 on my way into Peterborough and today 36 as we left Fenelon Falls to come home. It's been killer hot but not as humid as it could be. Dry as well. Duncan used to get very hot and dry in the summer and it feels like that here. Grass is brown everywhere. I noticed weeds turning brown.
A few changes in the Argos line up for Monday according to Frank Z's latest column. Devin Smith returns and Devon Wylie makes his regular season debut--something I know a lot of members here have been waiting for. Hopefully Gurley and him check in, and Bates and Miles check out.

RECEIVER GETS HIS SHOT
Devon Wylie made his CFL debut in Montreal when the Argos closed out their pre-season.
He’ll now make his regular-season debut against the Als on Monday, ending a frustrating time for Wylie, who showed a lot during the team’s mini-camp in Florida only to hurt his groin during rookie camp in Guelph, an injury that set him back.
In fact, the receiver played through it and one could tell he wasn’t at 100%.
On his first touch in Montreal, Wylie fumbled a punt return, but he also showed a knack for finding a soft spot in the secondary when lining up at the slot.
“I’m absolutely excited,” said Wylie, the kind of player who has the potential to do exciting things on the field. “There are so many ebbs and flows to a season and you’ve got to be ready when your number is called. I got to go out there and I’m expected to make plays. That’s kind of the bottom line.”
Wylie is an NFL talent who got tired of the politics down south.
He signed in Toronto because he wanted to play football and immediately enjoyed the CFL game, the rules, the tempo.
He’ll now get his shot in a real game with Ricky Ray at quarterback.
“He’s so consistent in his ball trajectory,” said Wylie. “His touch is always the same. You can plug in anybody and he’ll make it work. That’s what I’ve noticed about him.”
Wylie may even get a shot in the return game.

Hooray if Gurley and Wylie get the starts and if Bates and Miles sit; I've been really unimpressed with those two (Bates and Miles), and TBH I was expecting a lot more out of Bates this season.
Bates has hardly played, and was a last second sub against Ottawa. But yeah, Hazelton-Shaw-Wylie-Gurley is a pretty good foursome.
My biggest RC disappointment so far has been Durie - he hasn't done much yet.
