We're only in first place in the league. They have to do better than that!

I was pointing out the cherry-picking of his recent record.
RR is 3-2 this season (fully healthy).

The only reason to hate on ray is he is injury prone.

Well then, he better play well next game or else!

I don't think the overreacting, or knee jerk reactions are synonymous only to Toronto fans. Every online message board will have an abundance of positive comments after a win and swing heavily negative after a loss. The Ti-Cats or Riders forum are much better examples than anything one might read here.

I don't love either Milanovich or Ray.

The venom towards them on here is neither completely warranted or unwarranted in my opinion.

I don't get either but I do understand the frustration with the offence. What I don't understand is how Ray plays mistake free for most of the time and gets criticized. The lack of a offence, statistically wise, is frustrating to watch but I just can't pin it down as to why this is the case. I cannot say it's all because of Ray. If Ray was playing poorly then I'll be all for a change but he's not. The only thing I could conclude is its his inability to take a chance throwing it deep or his poor mobility (Thus, the checkdowns). But it's not like Kilgore was very successful in doing so either. Throwing it deep to Whitaker unsuccessfully on that wheel that many times was just overkill.

I feel that the offensive system should be criticized more than Ray himself. Now, looking at the W-L record of with and without Ray is a bit of a head scratcher. It's not like Ray has struggled but perhaps is just too predictable and defenses have figured him out. It's really all I can think of as to why the record is better with backups.

So maybe I do get it?

I believe it's the stats below that get some people riled up against Ray and SM. Bottom line is it's been a trend the last few years, so now's the time to secure the next QB!

Heading into his fifth season since the big trade with the Eskimos, the veteran quarterback had missed 29 of 72 regular-season games, or close to 40%. Now the soon-to-be 37-year-old is on the six-game injured list. Even if it’s nothing more than bad luck, it has simply reached the point where it’s hard to ignore some unpleasant facts regarding the veteran quarterback.
If he remains on the six-game injured list for the duration this time around, he will have missed 35 of 83 regular-season games as an Argo, which works out to more than 42%. That’s a hefty chunk of missed playing time for one of the CFL’s highest-paid players. Not only that, but he is 24-24 as Toronto’s starting quarterback.
A .500 record is nothing to shake a stick at, you might say, but the most damning statistic is the fact the Argos are 18-12 with starting quarterbacks not named Ray since 2012.

    It's a team game

The posts on this thread seem to revolve around whether or not the Argos win or lose with Ray at quarterback, missing the fact that some losses can occur due to one or two bad special teams or defensive plays. In a couple of the games that I saw, I do not believe that the quarterback was the difference, unless you can argue that the he must be able by himself to overcome team mistakes.

"QB wins and losses" are one of the dumbest stats ever recorded. Football is the ultimate team sport. A great QB can win you a game you don't deserve to win, but can also play well enough to win and still be on the losing end. A bad QB can cost you a game, but also be the QB of record in a win despite playing badly. And now it turns out that the starting QB gets the W or L regardless of how long he played. Henry Burris got the W in Ottawa's week 1 win despite missing most of the second half, when the game was decided.

Sounds like Collaros since he became a starter in Hamilton.

Collaros is 37 ? I thought he was 27 turning 28 this month.

What's Collaros' record as the Ticats starter ?

1-2 head to head against a Ricky Ray led Argos team. Just saying.

Not the question that I asked, but okay.
BTW, since we're cherry picking things - Which team is it that the Argonauts have lost their last two playoff games too ?
Not to mention the fact that even you have admitted that Collaros is the best QB in the League.
