We shall see who is correct on this but I still expect Mitchell to sign with the Ticats.

Maybe he felt coaching where his Grandfather is a legend is not the best career choice.

    I've been living under a rock, haven't I?

I didn't know who his grandfather was until I looked it up on Wikipedia.

It looks like Harris and Weineke are Saskatchewan bound.

Saskatchewan has signed former Alouettes QB and former #1 overall USFL draft pick Shea Patterson after his career in Birmingham didn’t really pan out. With the majority of the CFL QBs being in their mid to late 30s, I am a tad bit concerned about the quality of the next crop of starting CFL QBs.

The likes of Yukon Cornelius & Tre Ford with the Elks, Jake Maier, Chad Kelly, Caleb Evans, are examples of young QBs who have already played some in the CFL and IMO have some very decent potential.

Yukon Cornelius? Where did that moniker come from, OV?

What? - you never saw the old animated (clay-mation?) Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ? - shown every year at X-Mas time, somewhere. He was a prospector who tamed the Abominable Snowman. Probably from the early 60s - I grew up watching it every X-Mas, and it was scary, a bit, to some youngsters. Still love to watch it every X-Mas; and lotsa EE connections: cold, snowy Great White North weather; igloos; and plenty of reindeer, which are of course, related to Elk.

Mason Fine looked much more comfortable this year than last year in leading the Riders to a 30-27 win over BC, while throwing two TD passes.

Despite Trevor Harris going 29/41 for 401 yards in a 45-27 loss, the Riders could not match the Bombers in the second half, showing why Winnipeg is still dominant, but those passing numbers suggest the Bombers can be beat as their defence does not seem as strong as in previous years.

Riders win an entertaining game over the Stumps.

Riders starting safety Lokombo was injured early in the game and immediately replaced by back-up American DB Reavis. Lokombo seemed to be one of their 7 only staring Canadians at the beginning of this game; Reavis was listed as a DA, but would not qualify as one of those new nationalized Canadians as he is only in his second season (and even if he was, should only have been allowed to play 49% of snaps?); maybe I didn't notice some other substitutions (and later in the game the Riders had to replace an injured starting American O-lineman with a Canadian), and maybe I don't understand the new ratio rules, but something seems off there ?

With the apparent serious injury to Trevor Harris last night, the Riders may be inquiring about MBT if indeed he does return north to the CFL.

I was driving home from Mount Forest Ontario in the pouring rain listening to this game on Sirius radio. The mood swings of Michael Ball and Luke Mullinder were hilarious. Ball is definitely the biggest homer going (to the point where he defended Marino last year). Mullinder was so pissed when Trevor Harris got injured to the point he apologized for being unprofessional. He absolutely lost it, blaming the OC for not running the ball more during the game.

In any event, it made for a comedic drive home on dark roads in heavy rain.

Riders have released Derel Walker. I wonder if he will resurface somewhere else. He will definitely not make nearly the money that he has the last few seasons.

The Riders are pretty deep at receiver so this isn't a surprising move. Juwan Brescasin is buried very deep there too.
