I think LeFevour has the ability to be a solid CFL-style QB. It's too bad he hasn't been able to play more, but now's his chance... make that big chance.

I don't have huge expectations for the Argonauts with Ray being out so time to go chill out at the stadium and enjoy the day.

GvR gets the call at LT. Our LB and secondary groups look... suboptimal. Interesting to see Gabriel's name, but it could just be to pad the NAT numbers.

But hey, with a new QB anything can happen.

Receiving looks good as does the secondary. More concerned about the O-line. Curious to see how Lefevour does.

I guess Milanovich hasn't any choice on the offensive line as the two kids aren't ready and Wayne Smith apparently can't start anymore, but I don't like the match ups. Laurent and Tracey must feel good looking at that depth chart. Good job Lefevour can run a bit. Like for his life. I think we will see a lot of TE sets. But that takes more talented Canadians like Durie and Coombes off the field.
I know I'm not as smart as Scott and Brady, but wouldn't it make sense to bring in a real Tight End who could block but also release and catch those short passes over the middle and add some Yac yards. Then replace one of the Import wide receivers with Coombes/Noel/Jones for the ratio. Dupuis gives it his all, but he's not a great pass receiver. Somebody like Gurley only about 30 pounds heavier. This current O Line needs a TE all the time, not just on 1st down. Might as well have one that is a threat to catch the ball.
Most NFL teams go to camp with six TE's, dress three with one or two in reserve. That leaves at least thirty good TE's looking for work. Would be nice if Canadian Luke Willson (6'5 252) was available. But he is the type that could be successful in the CFL.

Mainly the fact that Gabriel is on the depth chart...

Funny you say that. I knew earlier in the week 56 was the over/under line until Ricky was labelled as out. I immediately went back to my online betting site to take the 'under' on the 56 total and I got in at the perfect time cause the next day the oddsmakers dropped the over/under to 54.

Luke Willson's not coming to the CFL. There are still Rider fans holding hope that Jon Ryan (U of R alumni) is gonna be a Rider. Never gonna happen. If the Seahawks don't want Willson, there's 10 NFL teams that do.

During the last game I asked how long the Argos could depend on the often injured Ray. That question has been answered. The Argos need to start looking for a long-term replacement, testing out what they have and making a major effort to sign a high level first string experienced qb in the off season.

I agree that neither are ever likely to play in the CFL.

Based on the first four plays, looks like the Argos will be blitzing a lot. So far the Argo defence has shown a lot of energy in going after Collaros and hitting the one receiver who caught the ball. The question is can they keep this up when they are playing their third game in eleven days.

Nice selection of plays leading to Gurley's wide open TD reception.

Great to see the Argos recognize Penny Oleksiak, swimming Olympic gold medal winner, by having her do the coin toss.

Heath stops Banks in the open field and then intercepts on the next play. So far the Argos are playing some of the best play of the season, although they have been lucky on a couple of deep overthrows by Collaros.

Pure TEs don't work in the CFL. You can't take advantage of the motion. BC tried it last year and it was a disaster. They just don't have the speed for CFL field and the new pass interference rules make it worse for them -- speed kills. Better off with motion H-Back that can chip the rush end -- ie. Nic Lewis

When you blitz repeatedly, you better get to Collaros, because if you don't the ball is soon going to end up in the end zone as occurred on Tolliver's TD.
