Holy Crap! If this is true, Nichols is asking way too much IMO.

Looking for Trevor Harris money it appears.
I don't see him getting that personally.

Well it is Harris money and it's also a starting point. He'll end up in the 300's.

Nichols is asking for $50k more than what Harris is reportedly making and rumoured to have asked the Argonauts for.

Some other interesting tidbits over the weekend:
    - O'Shea still hasn't sat down with Walters to sign a new deal. Maybe he's waiting to see what happens here ?
    - Steinauer won't be returning to Hamilton
    - Montreal's GM will either be Maciocia or Sunderland
    - Ray seems to be open to being the back-up and does want to eventually coach in the CFL
    - Ticats will be subtracting and adding to their coaching staff in the off season - Austin wasn't happy with the results. Brandon Banks could be on the way out as well.

The rumours have been heating up that it will be Steinauer as the new head coach in Toronto with Tommy Condell and Rich Stubler as his offensive and defensive coordinators.

Aside from Condell - No Thanks!
Steinauer is Stubler 2.0, and most people already want Stubler gone as is. Steinauer loves his vets and struggled badly this season with a young secondary (sound familiar?).

A little question for the Salary Cap experts. Could Ricky Ray draw X number of dollars as a player against the Cap, and also X number of dollars as an assistant coach which wouldn't count against the Cap.

I don't believe that falls within the rules of the cap.

It would be cap circumvention though, so league wouldn't allow it. Remember when Kackert was the strength and & conditioning coach ? Once he was ready to play, they removed him from the coaching staff and added to him to the roster.

Can't double dip for all to see, but when Calvillo was playing in Montreal his cap hit was only rumoured to be $250k, and he was also rumoured to have had a personal services contract with Wetenhall, which wouldn't have been included in the cap.

Franklin's tweet is interesting. Clearly wants to be the guy elsewhere, but is he a free agent or not ?

I'm getting the uneasy feeling that Copeland and the Argonauts are fixated on the organizational structure while other teams are busy talking to and locking up suitable candidates.

    So am I.

Read that Kent Austin is already having conversations with people to replace Steinauer and whoever else leaves.

As I've said since the introduction of 1 year contracts, things in the league can easily go topsy turvy from 1 year to the next. Expect to see every team have MAJOR changes on a yearly basis going forward. One of the reasons I believe you have to go for the championship every year in the CFL rather than build for the future. It's not like hockey or baseball where teams retain rights of their players for X number of years.

Copeland better move on his restructuring or whatever he is doing?
If Barker somehow manages to eke out another season, again with his lack of interest in signing FA's we are in further trouble.

Hajrullahu, Greenwood, Jefferson, and Whitaker seem like the top priority guys. For everyone else... it depends. I don't think Holmes will get another $200K contract from us or anyone else.

Franklin is under contract for one more year in Edmonton. Ed Hervey confirmed this after the most recent Argos/Esks game.

I would suggest that Barker deviating from his philosophy of not signing and overpaying veteran free agents was a mistake in 2016. The signing of the likes of Keon Raymond and Josh Bourke did the Argos no favours this season.
