    I really miss Chad Owens

I know there are lots of players making appearances in schools but still wish this guy was still representing the Argonauts as he goes to all of these schools. His talent but also his personality and charisma would still be a huge asset for the Argonauts.

Loved Owens. It is the hard part of pro sports when you lose a great community guy.

As I said before, losing him really hurt. Face of the franchise stuff. Credit to Owens for lasting so long in football, and partly due to the move. His generation of players we all loved (Foley, Durie, etc) are all coming to an end. If your looking for a similar personality, great with kids and fans, then look at James Wilder. Forget about all the contract stuff, he's the nicest, coolest, most approachable player we have right now.

I hear ya on Wilder. He did a fantastic job last year of interacting with the crowd and would likely do plenty of school appearances if he lived here full time. James Franklin will be another that will use his platform to make an impact on the youth. But again, I don't think either live in the GTA while Owens does.

Bang on with Wilder. That is the reason I was so pissed when people would take his contract situation personally. I was a bit sad when the Argos moved on from Owens. He would have been a perfect fit in Testman's atmosphere filled with good people.

IMO someone like Wilder has the potential of being the most community involved athlete in all of Toronto sports. May not beat out the likes of Matthews or DeRozen in terms of popularity and recognition but could really make a name for himself off of the field.
