why are the argos the lest active team in every off-season in regards to making news

It seems like every franchise is doing something to either improve their club or the make some news up. Argos.ca should hire a writer to send some info out. This franchise needs to make things happen. I've never been more bored as a life long fan. Want one of Milo or Barker gone. Thoughts?

Could explain why they are routinely at the bottom of the league in attendance and merchandise sales, out of sight out of mind.

And what has Edmonton done other than lose key players to the NFL? Re-up a couple of guys, just like us.

    I'd call this selective perception.

Pretty sure Ottawa has announced that their entire coaching staff will return....I think Calgary may have done the same. The Argos are quiet but something about our coaching staff should be brought up in January......should be.

Call it what you'd like but the Argos are in a whole different situation within their market than any other team in the CFL.
The off season is a quiet time for sure but things like Drew Willy's contract restructuring etc seem to get "leaked" to the public with absolutely no comment from the team, nothing on the website etc.
Trust me not expecting daily updates in the offseason but a gentle nudge to the Toronto sports fan once in a while could be helpful.
Quite frankly most other teams in the CFL don't have to do much in the off season as they don't have as much competition in their markets for the sports $$.

Seems to be the new Argo way - everything is always delayed.

LOL, that's true, but it just seems like everything they do takes longer than it should. Eg. 2016 Season tickets, parking info, pre games festivities, 2016 Grey Cup, Copeland's review, 2017 season ticket info, etc.

Because coming off a successful season in 2016 there's not much that needs to be changed.

As far as I know Toronto is the only team that hasn't confirmed their Coaches returning for the 2017 season. We know that Milanovich is signed for 2017 and 2018 but under the circumstances one would think this would be confirmed. I guess one could say that Hamilton hasn't confirmed that Kent Austin will be back, but then I haven't heard of Ticat fans calling for his head just yet either.
Jim Barker used to do some guest appearances on some Sports radio shows to give an update once in a while. I haven't heard of this happening even on TSN 1050. But if he has nobody has reported it. I expect this time of year Jim is hiding out down South checking out the Bowl Games and hopefully reviewing video tapes of possible 2nd round (10th pick) Canadian candidates for the up coming draft.

Argos are holding FA camps down south January 27, 28 and 29. So somebody is must be in charge. I wonder what the story is on WR Da'Rick Rogers who is still showing on the Argos suspension list. He was run out of the NFL for off field issues, so maybe they couldn't get him across the border.

Leo Cahill was good at generating Argo media coverage by talking about who the Argos were after. George Steinbrenner of the New York Yankees would tell media he was pursuing players he wasn't really after just to keep the team's name in the news. Of course only works longterm if you sometimes sign players with known names.

When Leo was doing this, the Argos were frequently (Theismann, Barton, Corrigall, Stillwagon, Allen, Anderson) able to outbid the NFL for name players. Those days have been gone since 1980, with the single exception of Rocket Ismail. Leo was a great promoter and a great judge of talent, but the latter wouldn't lead to the former the way it used to, if he was resurrected in today's world.

Hence why Rex Ryan's name actually came up here.
