Argos Town Hall Meeting

I think Thursday, March 9th is a good day to hold to Town Hall meeting. I guess the downtown core makes the most sense, unless others have a better idea. Members here are welcome to attend. If I can get this date and forum firmed up, I'll share the details so others can come if they wish.

I don't plan on spending to much time vetting the forum.

George Cope, Michael Copeland, Sarah Moore and Larry Tannenbaun will be invited too.

Unfortunately making it downtown on a weeknight is very difficult for us so we're out. Good idea though!

Obviously I can't make it since I live in Vancouver but I think it is a great idea and would love to hear what the brass has to say, assuming they attend. Maybe I'll host my own one man town hall out here and let you know what I come up with.

Given the state of affairs and that the ST fanbase continues to be ignored by the Argos during this offseason, with exception to selling us product, is it up to us to hold a Town Hall meeting? Maybe we should bring the fans together, invite some Argo players and talk publicly about the state of affairs? Naylor, Mitchell and Simmons would be interested. I have to think that Argos Alumni too are very concerned.

Sounds good to me. It has to be constructive though, not just a complain fest, that's what facebook and twitter are for.

Yeah, good luck with that. Unless a town hall is organized by the actual team, that's all it will be.

If the meeting is moderated, has an agenda and ground rules are laid out the meeting can be successful. In fact if it is organized outside of the team they don't control the agenda. It can work. I am positive about it and am looking forward to it. Grass roots in action by people that care .

That's the spirit. For better or worse the organization has left Copeland in charge. Probably for no other reason than apathy towards the team. The organization must be starving for ideas after the disaster they have created. They were not open to fan suggestions last year. Maybe they will have more of an open mind this year.

Judging by this year's Season Ticket package they've already listened to fan feedback.

Not to mention the return of fan day. I also hope they move camp back into the city, be it at York or somewhere else. I still went to Guelph a couple of times last year, but I just think they would get more press if they were in town.

I know when I re upped my season tickets just last week, I spoke to Rob and had a very nice discussion.
This may be an effort to right the wrong especially the GC debacle?

I was thinking that camp should be at the Downsview practice facility but they do need a place like a university where they can house them and feed them.

They did York for a couple of years prior to 2016. I don't think there is a conflict. The official reason given was that the field turf at Guelph was better than that at York. It's actually a nicer complex at York with a couple of Grass fields as well. York would be much better IMO.
