Not a fan of Chamblin for DC the riders D sucked most of his tenure there. Maybe he is being looked at for OC where I think he would be a great fit.

Chamblin will make a great OC as the riders O was always dynamite but their D was always poor to very poor, they had to score lots to overcome tgeir D mistakes.

I heard him clearly stating that Ricky Ray was his QB, that he was excited about working with him, I think you guys are reading something that he did not say. Just my take Ray is not being asked to break himself winning the job in camp. You cant tell much in camp anyway, you dont know what you really have until the rg season is underway. Every single team secretly thinks they have the team that can win it all but they wont say it out loud.

My take was that Trestman said it was Ricky`s job going into the season, the only way that another guy would start in the reg season over him would be if he played consistently bad. It`s Ricky`s job unless he tells Trestman before the season starts that he is not up to it, but that is not happening. Marc is excited that Ricky Ray is here, and the no competition was the absolute truth.
That was my point as well, showing Ray the respect he deserves while at the same time mutually making a decision as to how they proceed coming out of camp.

Trestman's deal is reportedly worth north of $600k annually. Highest none GM/HC combo salary in the CFL. Head coaches normally earn around $250-$400k.

I'm not surprised at this figure. Probably included a singing bonus. Not an issue to me, if the ownership wants to spend some of their Billions.

Not that it's directly comparable, but he was making $4M with the Bears.

The $750k is if all incentives are met, including winning the Grey Cup IIRC.

I am excited to see Scott Mitchell being used for football at the Toronto Sun. I hope that continues into the season.

Lots of work ahead for Trestman & our team to be contenders - but I would like to see him earn his Maximum!

Jones' deal has incentives in it, not sure about Trestman's.

Also, went to go and search around, and the rumoured $750k for Jones seems to be a Terry Jones rumour from early on, as he believed that's what could entice Chris Jones to leave Edmonton. It looks as though Chris Jones' deal is around $500k base and supposedly between $100-$150k in incentives.

All of this is hearsay. Nobody really knows what any coaches of GM's contract is. Easier to guess at a player's contract because of the cap, but management is completely different.

Ok guys - so maybe none of us have the right to know the private details of every player's or coach's contract.
But I think a coach would want performance/bonus clauses written into their deals - same as offered to players.
Ray's 2017 base salary is what $200,000? - But I've read he can earn an additional $290,000 in bonuses!
So I think the Argo owners are smart enough to say - "Ok Trestman we'll pay you $600K just to show up - but we'd rather also see you earn another $250K by bringing home the GG"!
