I'm very happy with Trestman, I think he's a better hire than Popp. Popp is a good hire, Trestman is a great hire.

But if it took Popp to get Trestman, that would make Popp the key hire.
It's us vs the rest of the country

Chamblin in the mix to become DC. Looks like Stubler won't be.

Corey Chamblin is one of the most experienced defensive coach available. Don't be surprised if he joins Trestman's staff as DC. #Argos @CFL

Heard this too. Rich Stubler is apparently not in the mix I've been told.

Congratulations to both Jim Popp and Marc Trestman on their new employment opportunities. I wish them both success as members of the Toronto Argonauts.

Seriously though..I am esctatic!!!! Can't wait to see the rest of the coaching staff. I have no issue with Chamblin, a Grey Cup winning HC being the DC.

We have a DC in Rich Stubler, no way he is going anywhere unless I missed his retirement announcement? oops I see a rumor above, my bad, this a surprise to me, hope it`s not true

The new coach absolutely must be able to choose his own coaches. So if Trestman doesn't want Stubler, so be it.

It might still be a rough season, but I have faith in a faster turnaround now. Playoffs by year 2 instead of 3.

While I do like that Trestman is coming here, a part of me is very concerned that we'll have a variation of the same offense we've had since 2010. Trestman was also let go in Baltimore due to his supposed inability to maximize the talent, lack of run and big play - where have we heard or seen this before ?

Chamblin as DC is a scary thought. As is potentially keeping Brady around. I was hoping that Brady and Younger would be given the boot.

I think Gabe addressed this pretty well:

Absolutely Paul, Trestman has an excellent track record in the CFL and knows the type of coaching staff needed to succeed.
Give him free reign to do so.

Chamblin's defenses were atrocious in Hamilton and Saskatchewan, so I'm really hoping that he's is not Stubler's replacement, but it's not like Stubler deserves to return either.

Wait and see how it plays out SnowRogue, coaching options will be somewhat limited at this time.

I hope not too, the dink and dunk era?
    The Milanovich system?
Regardless though the professor is an excellent hiring, Popp could be if he get's his GM magic back.
