You know 1 of the 2 teams on that list (the Rock too) that have won a championship recently.
Some might not see it as a big deal, but if Argo fans don't stick up for themselves then who will?
TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
This overreaction lacks context.
He's referring to championships which he feels will be coming soon. Not the ones in the past.
All of the Toronto teams with the exception of the Argos have been sporting winning records and can contend for a championship. Even the Leafs seem to be going in the right direction and was a buyer at the trade deadline for the first time in many years. The Rock have a winning record this year as well.
Personally I have no issue with a team going 5-13 and rebuilding being omitted. It wasn't too long ago, it was the other way around.
I rooted for John Tory over the years basically because he was such a friend and cheer leader of the CFL. I turned a blind eye to his liberal politics when he marched in the gay pride parade, but this was really inexcusable that he omitted the Argos. Reminds me a bit of Wayne Gretzky filing papers to have a street renamed Blue Jay Way for Gretzky restauarant , while John Candy with his great big heart struggled to keep the Argos afloat, with no help from Gretzky I might add
I'll excuse Mayor Tory for this omission - which he later corrected.
I'm sure many of us here have hit "send" - & then had regrets...
He has always been a great Argo supporter - which is exactly what we badly need at City Hall.
