    I've also heard people ask the question as to whether the Argos truly needed the Rocket to win the 1991 Grey Cup. I firmly believe that they did. It is almost self-explanatory given that his MVP performance in that game, but there are other factors to consider here as well. Pinball was hurt for much of the 1991 season and Ismail obviously stepped into his shoes as the team's primary kick/punt returner. Matt Dunigan missed significant time, and if you look through many games during that season you will note that special teams/defence played as much a factor (if not more) in the Argos' success. In fact, I think the Argos offence that year was only middle-of-the-pack in terms of yardage.

    I remember that signing! I was in a hotel with my family and was so proud to see the Argos making the news in April! The season that followed was truly special.
