Can you clarify? Are they simulcasting the existing broadcasts on the rest of the TSN radio stations?
The business side of it makes sense, You just feel sorry for guys like Mike Hogan. I am sure they will find a way for him to stay involved.
Have just been informed that the #Argos will simulcast the TV broadcasts on radio this year, meaning I won't be the PxP voice any longer. /1

TSN 1050 used to do this when it first started out, then due to complaints brought had their own radio broadcast team. I expect this will become the norm soon for teams not named the Roughriders and maybe even the Ticats for now, due to 1150 being a joint partnership.
The media world is hurting right now, and BELL is already making changes (Rogers as well for that matter).
Part of the reason you listen on he radio is to hear your hometown announcers. Sadly this will be lost.
Hogan's been the best since Pete Martin!!!!
This is another thing to bring up at the meeting next wednesday.

Very sorry to hear this. We've always enjoyed Hoagie and Jeff in the both. That also means that Sandy Annuziata and Chuck Winters won't be available for the post game shows. I will always remember listening to post game shows all the way back to the 1960s. A rite of passage going over the games afterwards. Good, bad and ugly ones. Mel Profit always amused us with his honesty. Until CFRB canned him, of coarse. Pretty sure Ralph Sazio had a hand in this one.
I think this cost savings, like others, can be drawn directly back to the CRTC ruling that Canadian channels had to air US commercials. If I am correct, a $25 million hit to Bell Media? US commercial content just cost a lot of Canadians their jobs. In retrospect, how wise was that move?
It's us vs the rest of the country
And its not a given that the Argos have really deep pockets. As we can see, they are at risk to the vaguarity of the marketplace. That is all the more reason, this rejuvenation of the Argos in the Toronto marketplace must work! I for one, would like the CRTC to review this policy. We didn't even watch the US commercials after all was said and done.
Maybe the CRTC could endorse a "Pay per View" Superbowl with commercial. Add a revenue stream, but get the $25 million back for Bell Media.
