Many Argo fans will be disheartened to learn Michael O'Connor has signed with BC.

Ottawa has brought back RB William Powell, one of the best RBs in the league, but his career 5.7 yards/rush dropped to 4.0 yards/rush as time catches up with the 34 year old.

Ottawa has also added former Argo WR Darvin Adams and Canadian WR Shaq Johnson, who was the third leading Canadian WR in yardage from 2017 to 2019, although he had a down year in 2021. I expect a comeback year from the 28 year old. Adams, at 32, is on the downside of his career having failed to break 1,000 yards the last two years, but he adds veteran presence to the receiving corps.

Once again Chris Jones is bringing in players he has already had on other teams with the signing of National DL Makana Henry, increasing the team's Canadian talent.

Montreal has signed Stamps Canadian WR Hergy Mayala, who had 562 yards in his rookie 2019 season, and has great potential.

A quick CFL rules refresher: The league mandates teams must have 21 Canadians, 20 Americans, two Global players and two quarterbacks on their game-day rosters. Of their 24 starters, seven have to be nationals (Canadian) and 16 Americans, and one QB.
With Victoria-born Nathan Rourke the declared pre-season starting quarterback, it means he’ll count towards the seven nationals. Throw in their host of Canadian free-agent signings on Tuesday, the official opening day of the rabid contract period, and that gave the Lions a ton of flexibility in constructing their roster.

That reads like the old way to me: just says one QB, but still 7 "nationals".
And if the Canadian does count as one of the 7 NIs, then it's still just another excuse for 7 only GOBs to play as few Canadians as possible. The # of Canadians on CFL rosters needs to be increased !
CFL promoting U Sports Quarter backs at the combine. My guess is only Tre Ford makes it to a CFL camp. I wonder if McMaster's Andreas Dueck is going back for one more season?

Wow. Tre Ford wins OUA track event at 60m. Besides QB, my guess he's going to get an NFL look as an "athlete" too.
