Scott Mitchell circa 1995 regular season might disagree with that notion, but yeah, the Lions offence in the 1990's should have been idiot proof. Hand the ball off to Barry Sanders and then play-action bomb to Herman Moore.

Some guys (Mike McMahon, for instance) are bad in both leagues, but some guys are good in the CFL despite failing in the NFL.
I don't think Clausen has the talent of any of those three. Not even close. I've seen nothing from Clausen in college or the NFL that leads me to believe he'll have any success in the CFL.

Terrible thing to say about a former Fighting Irish QB. The last one we had turned out to be pretty good.

This type of anger usually means one thing...KC bet on his team and lost. We've all been there.

I don't think Notre Dame has produced a good pro QB since Joe Montana.

They had Theismann, Clements and Montana back in the 1970s but I can't recall one since who has had any success in the pro ranks.

Neither can I. Rick Mirer was supposed to be the next big thing but he fizzled out.

Jarius Jackson had a serviceable career as mostly a back up, but did ok when he played for the Lions and Argos.

Just putting this name on the Argos negotiation list has dominated the forum in the absence of Argos news. I sure hope news starts flowing soon from training camp, wherever that will be held?

Forgot about Jackson, AV. Other than him, there hasn't been much over the past few decades in regards to QBs coming out of Notre Dame. Tony Rice was in Saskatchewan for a bit in the early 1990s but didn't amount to much.

Steve Beuerlein was a good backup and sometimes starting NFL QB from '88 to 2003. Probably the best Notre Dame pro post-Theismann.

EDIT - Not named Joe Montana of course. And you can argue Tom Clements was on Beuerlein's level, but I think we've debated Clements to death.
