A few curious absences - including some guys who were named to the East-West Bowl rosters (which usually indicates up for the CFL draft). With the Covid mess, did some guys get to defer another year perhaps ?

I hope Deionte Knight and Zack Fry show up. I thought they might hold a pro day at Western if there is NFL interest in the two.

Combine results/#s are in.

Some players put up very good sets of testing #s. Like the Ford twins.


Very strong draft crop IMO at DE, and D-backfield. Decent to good at most other position groups ? DT is on the one position that seems to be pretty lean on good prospects.

Watched most of the coverage. Running back Daniel Adebobye looked good. Probably be the first RB drafted. The Philpots looked good as expected. Linebacker Tyrell Richards will probably be the first defensive player drafted, maybe number 1. Although he didn't test great, Deionte Knight looked good in the one on ones.

I could see Jones taking Richards 1st overall - very athletic tester; could play W-OLB (Jones brought back vet Adam Konar - so the 2 could platoon to have a full-time NI starter position there?). Alberta product and U Sports D player of the year, LB - J. Schakel also put up a good set of testing #s - to back up his D play-making at the college ball level. Jones might have more respect for Richards' US college ball resume though (Jones drafted J St-John 1st overall when he had the spot before)

Could also see Jones going for Knight with 1st overall - guy who could likely play reps at both DE & DT; but i suspect Knight may get some sort of NFL look, which could mean CFL teams lay-off of using an early pick ?

The Philpots did not test anything special for receivers, but hopefully their production in U Sports ball and game film mean more to scouts; could see them both gone in first round, but maybe not? They likely do not draw much NFL interest, but the Ford twins may ?

One of the "insiders" on 3DownNation said that he hasn't seen the Philpots progress much since 2019 while he has seen such growth in the Fords.
