Toronto Sports hero by Joe Warmington Sun

Here is another perfect example of the media just down right forgetting about the Argos. Anyone read Joe Warmington story in the Sun today about Toronto Sport Hero. Joe mentions how lucky we are in Toronto to have teams such as the Rock, TFC, Raptors, Leafs and Jays. No mention of the Argos. This from a guy who writes nice stuff about the team and league in the past. Just unbelievable. Next the Toronto Wolfpack will get more mention then the Argos.

No surprise to me. He writes the most useless of columns anyways.

+1 I don't know how he manages to keep his job year after year. He must be in good with Godfrey.

    Nice job calling Warmington out!
But Brailey, JB and SM ran this franchise into the ground the last few years. Especially JB and SM last year.
Every time they dumped a long time, well known player, they had no one to step up in his place. Because every other player has only been here 1 or 2 years.
Hopefully under new ownership and Popp they will bring some stability with a core group of quality players.
This in turn will bring more awareness and a higher profile in the crowded sports scene.

Continuity is ever so important. Even (and especially) in the face of a transitional, salary cap league like the CFL. You have to make changes, but you need continuity. So you have to be a very good Manager. Look at the Grey Cup Winning teams' rosters. Barker used to say it was his main priority, but then he got away from it completely and it began to spiral away from him. Then the team spiraled away completely and neither one of them could control it. To be fair, they were working in untenable conditions -- without complaining. Players were coming to Toronto and remarking that their high school teams were more professional. Toronto became a joke. Good news is, Jim Popp believes in continuity, and building a football program. Lets hope our new Ownership Group believes in football. My hopes are up, and moving on from SM and JB was the right thing to do.

Here's a nice media change: since the Athletic TO finally put an Argos logo on their front page, and have been doing some Argos coverage, I decided to buy a subscription. I always said I would if they did, and they just got a year-long subscription because of it.

This is even more comical given I remember chatting with Warmington briefly after the big East Semi Final win in Montreal back in 2012 while the Argos were “accepting” the trophy.

I don’t read his stuff or have any other opinion, just think it’s a bit of a joke given he’s obviously well aware of the Argos.

I have subscribed as well and am using it for Leafs, Jays and Raptors coverage in addition to the Argonauts. I'd encourage those of you who are able to subscribe to this publication. The more CFL fans that do so, the more they will give the Argos/CFL coverage.

Joe might have purposely left the Argos off his list - just to see how much outrage that garnered?
Maybe his way to measure fan support...?
Gotta have something to show his editor - so he won't complain every time he wastes ink on us - Hahaha.

Let the record show that Warmington owned up to this on the weekend. I'm not a fan of his (to say the least) but it's only fair to point out that he acknowledged this.

He seemed sincere - so no harm done & we're friends again - Hahaha!

Good on him! Also nice to see that he heard from a lot of Argonauts fans.

Joe took ownership of it. We are certainly hypersensitive, for good reason.

He fessed up, and he's good in my books again.

Joe doesn't seem too popular in these parts, but I can vouch for him. He's a hard worker and loves what he does. He is also a good guy. You won't catch me being overly critical.

Yah I always enjoyed reading Joe's stories. We should remember he is not a sports writer for the Sun.
