Jeff Blair must be an authority on CFL football to know that there are no Warren Moons out there anymore. He is also boring to listen to. Goof.

I have said it before, when Hoagie and Landry were let go, that was it for me.

His favourite sport is baseball, so boring is just par for the course.

Surely nobody here disagrees that bringing in Kaepernick or Griffin would get a helluva lot more people interested in the Argonauts. Or that NFL-only fans are "sheep that get sucked in by the amoral NFL and its legion of media enablers".

It's stupidity, because the haters look at the CFL as a league of guys that can't make the NFL. I fail to see how 2 QB's that the NFL shows no interest in anymore would change that opinion.

Glad to see that I'm not alone in my opinion of Jeff Blair. I thought the article was amusing too.

Forget about the haters, the local media would be all over it. If it was Kaepernick the story would hit the national newscasts. Lots of casual sports fans would take notice.

I refuse to listen to 590. If I want a sports station it is 1050 or 1150. Too bad Hamilton 1150 has the better CFL coverage
CFL alive and well all others can go to Hell!

For a game or two. Ricky Williams sure didn't have as big an impact as some (most?) expected.

1150 has great CFL coverage, I'm not even sure that 1050's coverage is better than 590's.

But, my goodness, this is a league that had a 41-year-old dude QB its championship team last season and is in crying need of new blood at the most important position in any sport.
Fortunately south of the border they have 39 year-old rookie Tom Brady carrying the NFL banner.

As for actually bringing in Kaepernick or RGIII or whoever, I wouldn't be opposed as long as it's a football decision first and foremost. Signing players primarily for marketing reasons is just asking for trouble.

How could it NOT be a good football decision to bring in a highly talented QB? (Assuming they are healthy and in game shape)

It would only be a good football decision if guys like RG III can actually play the Canadian game.

Young was hanging by a thread to make the Riders and the injury just made their decision earlier.

If the Ti-Cats get into serious injury trouble in the QB spot, they would call Drew Willy before anyone on their negotiation list.

Jeff Blair is so typical-- a guy from Winnipeg who disses the CFL in Toronto because that's what he think gives him "big city" cred. They should revoke his membership in the Manitoba Football Hall of Fame. He is just a Rogers guy whose mandate is to diminish the CFL at every turn, like the rest of them.

That would be about it. The Ricky novelty wore off pretty quick. Especially when they saw he wasn't going to rack up 2,000 yards like they predicted. Just my opinion, but I think Bob Young and Scott Mitchell may have ordered Tillman to put those guys on the neg list to keep the Argos from bringing in what they might consider "undesireables" to the League.

Well obviously, but you won't know for sure unless you sign him and bring him in and see how he looks. That's all about football, not marketing.
