Prefontaine-Giancola. Medlock-Johnson for a game or two. And no doubt there have been others since the early '90s. But it won't happen this year IMO.

Hidden on the IR would be my guess.

Paredes & Maver give the Stamps the best all around kicking game in the league now, and their record the past few years in employing 2 kickers is pretty decent, is it not.

Meanwhile, Squinty Wally has to bring back grampa McCallum last season after his good punter showed he was not a good FG kicker as well; or Jimmy P had to totally bench/sit his dual kicker Bede and go with a new guy for both jobs as the Als put in another weak & losing season.

Today in Toronto Star: The Argos, for now, will go with two kickers. Lirim Hajrullahu is the incumbent, but in Friday’s game, Ronnie Pfeffer showed off a booming punting leg.

Four days ago in Toronto Star: Meanwhile, Canadian kicker Ronnie Pfeffer, who was signed this week, will get a chance to play in the second half of Friday’s game. He has a tough assignment trying to unseat the incumbent, Lirim Hajrullahu, and the team won’t carry two kickers during the regular season.

That's an overly simplistic interp, but to each his own.

Coaches probably changed their way of thinking. They could change their plan again prior to Sunday and Ronnie may sit.

Still doesn't say whether he is dressing/playing or if that just means they are keeping 2 kickers on the roster. I have a hard time believing that Pfeffer will dress.

I believe he will dress and will play. It is very hard to find a good dual guy that is the best in both areas. That is why I questioned why they brought Ronnie on. We all know what Lirim did which was good but not good enough last year. It is a good compromise to improve our special team play.

Huh??? Not good enough? Argos need to work on coverage to improve special team play.

LH hit 37-of-42 field goal attempts to record a career-high 88.1 FG% while connecting on 32-of-34 one-point convert attempts…Punted 112 times for 4,913 yards (44.9 AVG) and two punt singles…Added 73 kickoffs for 4,657 yards (63.8 AVG) and one kickoff single…Named the Argonauts Most Outstanding Special Teams Player and Most Outstanding Canadian…Received his first nod as a Divisional All-Star… Tied Noel Prefontaine for the Argos third-longest consecutive field goals streak with 15 straight…Connected on 6-of-7 field goal attempts in Week 3 at BC to tie for second in Argos single-game history…

Have to agree here. It's virtually impossible to find someone who can perform at an all-star level in all three facets (including kickoffs) but Hajrillahu is excellent at all three. IMO Pfeffer should dress only if he is miles better than LH at one of the three facets.

Then why are they doing this and moving in this direction if Hajrillahu is so great. He wasn't so great in 2015 with Winnipeg although he was pretty solid last year for us. There is a reason they are not comfortable and I think the kicking game is always better when you go with 2 kickers. CFL rosters are small and therefore not many teams want to give a roster spot to another kicker but it appears there is a split in how teams in the league are viewing this now. We are not the only team that will have 2 kickers. Lets see if it lasts all season. Popp, Trestman and company did not do this because they like giving up a valuable roster spot for no reason. Maybe Pfeffer will be gone after a game or 2 but I don't think so.

Have to agree, I was not expecting much from LH given his performance in Winnipeg in 2015. I think he’s been good and a National to boot.Much as Swayze Waters did have a booming leg, he went through spells of being quite dicey on FG’s and was American (and got the injury bug as well).I’m fine with LH going forward.

Plus I’m pretty sure some of his family sit in front of me at BMO Field so I’ll stick to applauding his performances (like I do Declan Cross for the same reason)

Let's see if it will last all season? We don't even know if Pfeffer is going to dress on Sunday. The two reports have been contradictory, and neither said he will be on the active roster. Unless LH is hurt, I'll be very surprised if Pfeffer dresses this week. CFL rosters are not small, BTW -- 44 men dress. 34 was small.

Agreed. Which is why Kyle Graves most likely will be dressed in case of an emergency.

Pretty sure the sole reason Graves is on the roster is to play special teams and serve as a backup kicker. He's the one receiver we have who will likely never catch any passes.

You can't miss the Hajrillahu family, they usually wear Argos #70 jerseys. Lirim was born in Kosovo and emigrated early to Canada during the conflict in Kosovo that followed the Civil War in Bosnia.

Lirim has a great, & supportive family. If you really want to endear yourselves with them, practice a few Serbs-Croat phrases and you'll have friends for life!

Not sure about that. From what I saw in practice, he can catch and is a pretty big target. Now, I don't know if will ever see a down on offence with the plethora of receivers but he is certainly more than capable. But you're right, he may be more valued on specials.
