Back to apologize to Shatto about the discussion above regarding using a news agency (CFTO in this case) to promote a sports team.
I believed that even Rogers wasn't low enough to promote the Blue Jays on an unrelated platform such as a news agency. Baseballnet TV and Baseballnet The Fan 590 (hey, they over-saturate with baseball programming - I can't call them a sports network), yes, but not any of their news properties.
Well, I was wrong. I was just listening to 680 News in the car. The sports report came on, as it does twice an hour. First report is about the Blue Jays game tonight. No surprise. No issues for me so far. HOWEVER, they go on to advise that the game can be seen on ..., heard on..., or followed online at ....com.
THAT is beyond reporting. THAT is promotion.
Soooo, since the Argos have to compete in this environment, fight fire with fire then!
No principles in this marketplace.
