Most CEOs, Randy included, don't show up to any formal presentations without a 'power' tie. There was a message sent today, by losing the tie. I don't know what the message was, but the was a message sent.

Never would you see Gary Berryman, Roger Goodell, Adam Silver do this in that kind of setting. Was he saying, CFL is an informal league? Players, I am one of you? I don't know. But that wasn't Commissioner Randy Ambrosie who forgot to wear a tie.

I think you are reaching for things to criticize. CEOs do in fact show up to presentations without ties on. It's been happening for a couple of decades. There are even female CEOs these days; have never seen one of them wearing a tie.

I prefer to judge Ambrosie on what he says and how he does the job, not what he wears. Should he also be criticized for wearing double blue-striped socks yesterday? Has he said anything worth criticizing yet?

Maybe you are right Paul. In fact, I wasn't available to watch the press conference, and another CEO relayed this observation. I thought about it, and agreed and shared it here.

Having said that, going forward I will judge Randy Ambrosie on his performance. I know Randy fairly well and do like him. I really hope that he is a positive step for the league, but more importantly for the troubled Toronto franchise. His attributes include CFL alumni, formerly Secretary for CFLPA but most importantly, Randy brought a big sponsor (AGF Funds) to the CFL. He understands fully the problem of the Argos in the GTA.

How much input/change Randy can orchestrate from the Office of Commissioner, I don't know I will definitely speak to him about it when I see him next.

Looks like a good hire to me, ticks of a lot of peoples boxes. To put it mildly, I don't understand how anyone can complain about Ambrosie already, especially about his lack of "power tie". Having just dealt with Orridge, why not wait and see what Ambrosie does with our League ?

I still hope Glen Johnson is given the boot, and that the League goes back to the previously logo. A lot of other things to be dealt with, but those two are quick fixes.

I've seen Ambrosie in several interviews now. What strikes me is that he seems comfortable in his own skin and a good communicator, something I never felt with Orridge
