There's no real plan b in that play. Once you try it, that's it. Sinopoli came close to retrieving the ball, but not close enough obviously. It's not something I would have tried fairly deep in my own end, but I guess that was the element of surprise they were hoping for. I really haven't seen that type of quick kick tried since I played high school football.
