    How Long Will Austin Last?

With Austin and the Tiger Cats 0-5, and perhaps more important, a team that looked like it wasn't even trying as Stampeders continually broke token arm tackles and ran past defenders at will in Hamilton's 60-1 loss to Calgary, it looked like Ticats had given up playing for Austin. Under these circumstances how long can Austin last?

The only question does the GM Fire the coach ? Or does the GM hire a new GM and stay coaching?
I can't see the Caretaker getting rid of him ..... That's 2 important hirings to do .... Can't do that mid season.
Can't see the DC or the supposed OC taking over. In fact they may be part of the changes.
Austin likes to micromanage so it's difficult to see him becoming only the GM
It looks like he's lost the room more than Milo did towards the last half of last season

I can't see the Cats making a mid season move, but if they miss the playoffs, and things don't work out for Milanovich in Jacksonville, I can see him being the Cats HC next year. His relationship with Collaros is tremendous. Then he can cut Kevin Elliott again. LOL.

I see Austin making it to the end of the year. This season has gone south and no chance of recovering.
It really started last year, Collaros went cold and they lost most games. Seems he lost the room.
In the off season I think Young and Mitchell have one of two choices. Can Austin completely or reduce his power.(coach or head of football...not both)
Most importantly! they need to determine if Austin is driving good assistant coaches away, and players as well. If that is really the case, then there's only one decision.

Also under Austin the cats have had brutal starts every year. That gets hard on the fans. Hard to market summer games when the team starts bad year after year. That falls on him as he has all the power.

A little off topic, but I take no pleasure in watching the TiCats look so bad.
As a long time Argo fan I've made this comment before.
Hamilton, Toronto, and the league need both teams to be competitive! Far too many years one is good and the other horrible.
To have both sustain competitive teams and fight for playoff postition would only ramp up the interest in Southern Ontario.
Too many years the labour day classic has a bad Argo team coming in, or a good Argo team playing a bad Cat team.
This year the up and coming Argos will be playing a 0-7 or 1-6 Ticat team.

The hype for the Edm BC game started early in the week as a can't miss game.
The NFL lives of this! They don't have to sell they don't have to sell the Cleveland Buffalo game when they have the Pats Seahawks etc.
I realize it's the nature of a 9 team league, but I've grown frustrated as more years are like this year.

I, on the other hand, take great pleasure in watching the Tiger-Cats look so bad.

Furthermore, I would be perfectly fine with the franchise folding.

All of this sentiment is derived from interaction with idiotic Tiger-Cat fans btw. Anything that makes them miserable is fine with me.
I bear no malice to the owner, management, or players for this team.

It would be horrible for the league to lose a franchise.

Any franchise folding would do the league no good at all.

The Ticats are 4-15 over their past 19 games so there is a disturbing trend for that team that hasn't exactly been short-term.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

    Good point.
I wouldn't want the players and management to lose their jobs.

    Relocation out of Hamilton then.

I agree with those who say that folding of any CFL frahchise would simply raise more questions about other franchises and the CFL itself. If the Ticats were to fold, a lot of vultures would be looking at the Argos with gluttonous stomachs since the Argos have even lower attendance.

Interesing that June Jones is coming in to help Austin as an assistant head coach. June became a very successful college coach and made a lot of money doing it. So he won't be doing this for the money I wouldn't think. Maybe Kent is going to step away eventually for a while and just be the head of football operations. Collaros and Austin don't seem to be clicking this year, so maybe Jones can rebuild his confidence or what ever is wrong with Zach.

If June Jones is coming in to take over the play calling from Ptaszek then what happens to him? Ptaszek is calling some terrible plays and seems like the offense has no confidence in him as a coach. Why hang on to him?
Jones as the O coach calling plays can't be any worse than what is happening now.

You're kidding yourself if you think Ptaszek is calling the plays in Hamilton. Apparently he did in the first game, but Austin took it over in week 2. Play calling is not necessarily the issue though. The execution has been terrible. The talent level just isn't there.

Everyone's a scrapgoat for Austin, even as a player he would blame everybody else when things didn't go right.

Looks like Reinbold fired as DC, dominos starting to drop in Hamilton.
Wonder how long before June Jones takes over the offence?

Can't be much of a surprise when you give up 75% completions and 400 passing yards a game. Though I wonder how things might have been different if their starting halfbacks had been healthy.

Will Austin actually hand over the offence ?

Reinebold has never been much of a DC, but having most of their starting secondary probably hasn't helped.
TBH, I think Hamilton needs to clean house in the off season. Every coach has an expiry date (or something lie that), Austin's hit his date IMO.
