I'm picking Montreal to take this game.
No prediction from me. I don't think I've ever seen Mathews play. The return of Edwards will help in the speed department and maybe Cash will start to show why we were excited to sign him, but I hate the loss of Gabriel.
Who knows?
With Trestman returning to Montreal, he'll want to win this one badly, but without Ray it will be tough. However, there is some good news if the OL can hold out long enough for our QB(s) to get the ball well downfield: the Als have an inexperienced safety and backup.
http://montrealgazette.com/sports/fo...down-argonautsThis Friday at Molson Stadium, the Als will start freshman Dondre Wright at safety against the Toronto Argonauts. And he’ll be backed up by Mikaël Charland. Although Charland is in his second season, he hasn’t played safety on a regular basis since his university days at Concordia. ...
Wright, whom the Als selected in the third round (20th overall) last May, will be replacing the injured Chris Ackie, himself in his first year as a starter, although his third pro season. Ackie underwent surgery for a torn triceps muscle and is lost for the season.Although Wright, 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, has been used extensively on special teams, he has had an increasing role on defence when the Als utilize three down linemen. “I feel like I’ve played substantially the last six games. I’m progressively getting better,” said Wright, a native of Ajax, Ont., who played collegiately at Henderson State, a Division II school in Arkansas. “I’ve missed some opportunities, but I think I’m ready to step in and start.
The Als signed Charland near the end of training camp, following his release by Ottawa. He has been on and off the active roster throughout the season and, when dressed, contributes on special teams. But at 6-foot-4 and 216 pounds, he’ll provide the team with some much needed height in the secondary.

Here's the Als' depth chart.
🚨 Here are the players that will tackle the @TorontoArgos tomorrow night. We can't wait! How 'bout you? #AlsMTL pic.twitter.com/vkssXbvmCu

It's irrelevant that Matthews is starting over Fajardo or that Paden is ahead of Williams on the depth chart. The big story is that Shania Twain, will be headlining the Grey Cup Halftime Show.
By the way, Argos win by a field goal.
You missed the big one. I've been waiting years for him to do this ... and here it is
OV using NFL tenure to prove one QB is far better than the other.LeFevour was drafted in the NFL and spent a year on a PR there (i think?); Matthews had a couple of cup of coffee looks in the NFL and never made a roster.
This after years and years of saying Ad Nauseam the NFL tenure does not matter a lick when he was pumping up Canadian QB's. He's now shot his whole dogma to hell. Now NFL tenure does matter!
Montreal has sure changed their roster from last year. I still rank them 4th in the East but Ottawa and Hamilton can't seem to get things in gear. I like their new CB Mincy and the Canadian FB Beaulieu looks like a keeper. New LT OLafioye QB Durant and WR Jackson may be past their prime. The same with Hebert, Bowman and Cox on defense. But Montreal needs a winning team to keep their fans for sure.
I was simply listing both QBs accomplishments/resume. But maybe it is totally meaningless that LeFevour played at a higher level of US college ball and passed for more yards; AND got more NFL attention; AND has done more in the CFL , compared to current Argo (that is very important to homer types here) Matthews - who has more "arm strength" apparently.
Too bad you either lack reading comprehension skills or are very selective in claiming you know anything about my football opinions. I've often sited, for years & years of CFL fan forum posting that a decent NFL resume is a reason to think a new Argo (or any CFL team) signing may be a good prospect. Doesn't mean I believe any player with an NFL resume is an automatic CFL superstar, and I usually am very leery of CFL teams signing washed-up, over-rated and over-the-hill ex-NFLers (see Jimmy Popp signing Ochocinco or the Argos wasting time with Andre Rison).
"Pumping up Canadian QBs" ??? - WTF ? - you mean thinking the very best ones might rate some sort of CFL shot ? OMG - Nooooooooo !!! Love how you trained seal CFL GOB "dogma" types get all bent out of shape when somebody dares stand up for Canadian talent in the CANADIAN Football League. Did some GOB type inform you that all Canadian QBs lack "arm strength" maybe ? Amusing.
It would be really nice if we could stop sniping at each other. It's possible to disagree without being obnoxious about it.
And speaking of sniping, what are the chances we see Drew Willy tonight aside from holding a clipboard?

They might use him as the short yardage guy, though. I don't remember whether he is any good at that.
