    Zac Collaros

Thinking future here. Would/should the Argos be thinking of replacing Ray next year and if so, do they consider Collaros? To me, last nights game signaled the beginning of the end of his time in Hamilton. He might not even start next game. If he is not run out of town, he most likely will be asked to take a huge pay cut. He is clearly not the same player as before, but that could be due to multiple reasons. Would Trestman want a player like that here? Imagine is he were to return to the Argos (at a reduced price) and find success!

By all means if circumstances permit add Collaros. The reasoning is obvious (whether you agree or not) & I'm not going to waste time & energy typing.

A question to ask is whether or not Collaros is "shell-shocked" similar to Drew Willy?

It's worth considering but he's very injury prone and will be 29 later this month.

I predict that unless Austin quits or is fired, Collaros will be an Argo in 2018.

Tommy Condell is already in Toronto and seems to be the "Collaros-whisperer" so re-acquiring him would make sense that way at least. The comparison to Willy is an appropriate one IMO.

Collaros was at his most effective when he would scramble and take off with the ball every now and then. It seems like he is no longer able or willing to do that. He looks terrible, he looks slower, he is throwing badly, but I would still snap him up for the right price. Maybe he only needs a change of scenery. At the very least he could mentor Cody Fajardo on the ins and outs of being a mobile QB in the CFL.

I do not see Condell in Toronto as a long-term thing though.

I think it's a real possibility. It's going to take a lot for Austin to be let go. Bob Young and Scott Mitchell don't strike me as making any rational changes too soon.

It started with his first concussion. A string of injuries and a losing culture in Hamilton has affected his confidence and mind set. It's all in his head, which can be fixed, sometimes with something as easy as a fresh start (new HC and teammates). He still has all his abilities, at 29, he's got the knowledge too.

Can you see him as a replacement once Austin is fired?

Surely we are not thinking about forcing Ricky to retire after this season? Unless Collaros's stock has fallen so far that he'd be willing to back up, I can't see why he'd sign here because I believe Ricky is not done. Far from it, in fact.

I wish Ricky could play (and produce) forever, especially after last game. I've always defended him and the Argos decision to choose Ray over Collaros/Harris. Will or does he even want to return next year? How many more shoulder injuries must he endure? I want this team to be proactive, thinking of the future. Zacks stock has and will drop, probably not to back up level, but he won't be the highest paid player next year and the Argos could benefit from this, if interested.

And Tracy Ham was done when he came to Toronto. Guys like Zak don't just become chumps. He has nothing to work with. I listened to the post game and pregame show for the ticat game Friday and they were saying none of the receivers were getting open although they are not happy with Zak either. I wouldn't mind seeing him back here but I agree with others I don't see him as a back up still even though his stock has plummeted.

Collaros would come to the Argos to back up Ray. Oh, wait...on second thought.....never mind.

I agree with Paul. In addition, I doubt that the Ticats would ever trade Collaros to the Argos because they would rather trade him to a western team where if he is successful it would not be a constant reminder in the same division just down the road. Furthermore, I strongly doubt they would do it just before the Labour Day classic, the most important regular season game for the two teams, regardless of their position in the standings.

I don't think anyone will force him, but I can see him wanting to do so on his own at season's end.

Given that this league has (and enforces) a salary cap, how could the Argos absorb a half-million salary for a backup?
