Pretty obvious they will try and find a trading partner, but the most likely scenario is they release him before Feb 1.

Agreed, I just don't see why anyone would want to trade for him when they can wait for him to be released and avoid the bonus and last year of his big contract.

If a team is convinced that he is still elite, they might want to jump the line and trade for him. The cost would likely be low, like a late round draft pick and a neg list player.

I guess that team would be hoping to renegotiate his contract and bonus too, otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

I would love to see the Argos resign Ray under a similar contract and add Brandon Bridge, if the Riders are foolish enough to not resign him.

Lulay (I don't see Lulay going anywhere, even if he were to retire), Franklin, Bridge, Masoli, Ray, and Harris all free agents - Durant and Collaros most likely won't stick with their teams under their current agreements (salaries) - Manziel can sign shortly = should be an interesting off season.

As for Ray, if he receives an incentive based contract again, I'd have zero issue with him returning for at least another season.

EDIT: Should have added that I can see a lot of teams looking for QB's. (IMO) BC needs insurance in case Lulay retires and Jennings isn't the real deal. Edmonton would need a back up once Franklin leaves. Saskatchewan needs a starter/future starter, Bridge is a free agent, but I'm not sold on him (I'm not a fan of seeing him here either tbh), and I think Adams has career 3rd stringer written all over him. Hamilton may need a starter/future starter, depending on Masoli and Manziel. Toronto needs a backup/future starter (this is a must IMO). Ottawa may need a starter, and Montreal needs a starter and capable back up.

Same here! Bridge working under Trestman has so much potential. And maybe he'll see that and want to come this way.

I would definitely sign Zac and if Ray comes back for one more year, it can be exactly like when the two were last together.
The other x factor for me is James Franklin who will be a much sought after FA.
If we could sign him, he appears to be the real deal.
