    Playoffs

We now have the Tiebreaker against everyone in the East. 1 more win or 1 more loss by Both Hamilton and Montreal and we clinch a home playoff game.

Magic number to clinch first is 3..as in combination of Argos points gained and RedBlacks points lost.

I'm going out on the limb and saying first is in the bag. Bring up an interesting scenario last game of the season. With a bye in week 18, a decision to rest any players in the finale in B.C. would mean those players would go 4 week between games. I think the Argos would have to play all their starters in the finale for at least a half.

I think an Argo win versus Saskatchewan coupled with an Ottawa loss to BC would clinch the Argos first place. I'll comment on resting players when the Argos have clinched the bye and not before.

Trevor Harris is rumoured to be back this week. I say Ottawa wins that game.

He was rumoured to be back last week as well. The Lions themselves also need that win big time.

Lions season went buy bye with the loss of Travis Lulay. Jennings is having a major sophomore slump. He will be better next year. This has been a humbling experience for him.

Yes he definitely is and I had expected BC to be a strong challenger in the west this season. Heh, I just looked and the Lions cannot even rely on a 10:00 EDT start.

Someone told me to watch it, something about the ball being sweaty and that being the reason Durant threw that ball over the receivers heads to Darby?

Durant complained about the centre's sweat going on the ball, which lead to Durant throwing the inception. Kavis actually went around asking someone to find a towel.

Funniest parts to me, were Kavis telling his defense to keep an eye on Martese when he's on the field - the very next play, the defensive players lock onto him, which leads to Wilder getting big yards on a checkdown. And #2. Martese's fumble on teams lead to Kavis running around telling everyone that "that's how we play football, that's Alouette football, that's our football". lol

Durant should simply look in the mirror to see what the problem is.
In regards to Kavis Reed he has no business being a CFL GM.

I found it hilarious that after Kavis said "that's how we play football" they automatically cut to Wilder's TD.

Durant is known for never taking the blame on himself when things aren't going well, and his so called injuries have been noted as well. Ever notice how he's always injured at the end of the year during losing seasons ?
That's one of the reasons Jones didn't want him back with the riders, along with Durant not being very good, and his asking price. I'll never understand how Rider fans actually though Durant was an elite QB.

Kavis has no business being a CFL coach either IMO. How he keeps getting promoted is a question I've had for years. I agree though, he has no business being the GM, but I think he's good at selling himself, and Andrew Wetenhall wanted a yes man.

Funny thing about the sweat complaint is that it really should not be an issue in shot gun. QB's hands can get sweaty under centre on a humid day. Shot gun, not so much.

Let's make this easy on ourselves by beating Sask and (hopefully) having Ott lose to B.C. Then we can rest and experiment for two weeks before revving up for the last game of the regular season. I believe we will defeat Sask, but I'm not too optimistic about Ott losing to B.C.

Unless my math is wrong, Montreal can no longer catch the Argos. The best the Als can do is 7-11 which would tie them with the Argos, if Toronto loses all remaining games. The Argos hold the tiebreaker.

As far as next week goes, B.C. will be coming off a bye week so I would give them the edge over Ottawa. More often than not, teams coming off the bye win although it didn't work for the Esks last night, much to my surprise.

After the game ended, Mike Hogan said "au revoir, Montreal" and I had no clue what he was talking about for a moment, but then he explained that yes the Als can no longer catch the Argos.

But Edmonton came off the bye week this week. I guess the advantage BC has over Edmonton is that they didn't recently acquire that human jinx known as John Chick. Ti-Cats went from contenders to 7 wins in 25 games after acquiring Chick, and Edmonton is now 0-3 with him, while the Cats have greatly improved. One key denominator there.
