GAME THREAD: Ottawa at BC Friday October 7th

My mistake, I forgot to change the day in the title to Saturday.
Jennings is suffering from the sophomore jinx in his third year (he wasn't the primary starter his first year). The steep decline in BC's attendance is significantly reducing the home field advantage effect of the 13th man in Vancouver, that in the past helped give it an enormous advantage for these games. Wally's uncertainty about whether to leave after this season seems to sometimes to be reflected in his actions on the sideline. However, BC still has a chance at a playoff spot and Jennings has the talent to be a formidable QB if he regains his mojo. On the other hand, former Argo Trevor Harris's reported return from injury should improve the moribund Lindley-led offence and lead it to victory, especially when a win could make it very difficult for Hamilton to catch it for the final playoff spot.

We are clearly hoping for a Lions win regardless of the circumstances of tomorrow's Argos game. It is worth noting that this game is at 7:00 eastern and not the standard 10:00 eastern that the Lions seem to get against eastern teams.

Could see either team winning this game, but since I have to choose... Ottawa.

Hamilton's win tonight puts more pressure on Ottawa to get a win against BC as the Ticats 4-2 record after a 0-8 start brings them within striking distance of the RedBlacks with a game in hand.

Buono wants the Lions to go into this game angry, something I agree with because they have seemed complacent and somewhat flat a number of times this year. Like Lulay, Buono sees Jennings' problems this year as closely tied to his confidence level.

There was a palpable anger in the BC Lions’ locker room following a last-second loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats two weeks ago.
Wally Buono would like to see a little more of that emotion from his team on the field.
“After the fact, it’s too late. Maybe go into the game a little more angry,” BC’s head coach and general manager said. “Football is an emotional game played by angry men.
“The anger has to come before the game, not after the game.” ...

Despite his struggles, Buono said the third-year pivot still has a chance to save both his and the Lions’ season.
It just has to start now.
“Athletes thrive on success,” Buono said. “When success doesn’t happen, everybody’s confidence starts to wane. It’s what your foundation is, it’s what your beliefs are, it’s what your support system is that helps you to get through it.
“At the end of it you’ve got to pick yourself up. Nobody’s going to help you.”
