GAME THREAD: Edmonton at Montreal Monday October 9th

Montreal is the Thanksgiving turkey that will be fed to the very hungry Eskimos, who have lost six in a row.

The Als 2017 first draft choice (12th overall), Fabion Foote, will be playing for the first time in this game. DT Keith Shologan remains on the six game injured list, along with other Nationals, OL Philippe Gagnon, Chris Greaves, and Matt Vonk, and LBs Chris Ackie and Frederic Plesius, which pushed Reed towards adding Foote. With Internationals and six time All-Star Jovan Olafioye, as well as Jeremy Lewis, missing from the OL, immobile former Argo Drew Willy (Durant is injured) may be on his backside for quite a bit of the game.

Back in June, when the Alouettes were seeking a Canadian defensive-tackle at the start of the regular season, they re-signed Don Oramasionwu, a free-agent addition last winter from Edmonton, and activated him on short notice.
Fabion Foote, a non-import defensive-tackle — and Montreal’s top draft choice last May — was overlooked in the process. And, thus, began an arduous 15-week process of sitting and waiting for the rookie.
Foote’s patience will pay off Monday afternoon at Molson Stadium (2 p.m., TSN, RDS, TSN Radio-690) against the Eskimos. He finally has been activated and expects to be part of the Als’ 44-man active roster.

After going ahead 15-0 on a deflected Eskimo kick that gave the Als great field position, an interception for a TD, and a 40 yard Logan return to set up a FG, the Montreal offence and defence returned to normal and were outscored 42-9 for the rest of the game.
Wednesday is the final trade deadline. Is there anybody on the Als worth pursuing now that they are mathematically eliminated?

Edmonton's losing streak is over, but John Chick's winless streak continues.

Not sure if Bowman is a massive upgrade over Tuggle given his age/ability but if Lemon is out for awhile, might be worth a look til the end of the season? Has a relationship with Popp and Trestman.

Injured, or a wise healthy scratch?

If Ball is out for a while, does the ageless and controversial Kyries Herbert fit that spot? Love him or hate him, he can still play and is a leader.

Or just as depth given that both Lemon and Butler have missed significant time this season.
