Hear, hear. I was at that Edmonton game that served as his coming out party. Thought he ran a little high at first, but that sprinter's form serves him well when he gets in the open field. Strong enough too to make tacklers bounce off of him. Basically turned the team into Grey Cup contenders once he emerged.

This was the only award I wasn't !00% sure about. Not because I think Wilder doesn't deserve it, but because I wondered how much stock the voters would put on the amount of games Wilder played in, so I'm pleasantly a bit surprised.

Great to see! He's definitely a player that is making an impact both on and off the field.

Loved it when he came up to the stands to be with the fans at the last home game. Also worth noting that Wilder brought up his oline while excepting the award. Trestman was impressed with it - Trestman the leader of good men.

Wilder has made a point of thanking the o-linemen publicly, including at one home game when a TSN sideline camera was in his face and he urged the camera op to show his o-linemen instead. He's a class act who has responded well to Trestman's style of leadership.

Wilder is a cool guy. This was evident as far back as Fan Day during training camp. He came into the stands to meet some people at York stadium that day as well, prior to the fans being allowed onto the field after practice.
It's us vs the rest of the country

He also showed his class at the awards by bringing all his offensive linemen up on the stage and praising them all when he won the award.
