    Awards 2017

This has been a fun team to watch this season and I'm happy that they got recognized around the league!

My prediction is that Wilder and Trestman win with Ray coming in a close second. Not sure about McEwen.

McEwen wins for fun. One penalty all-season.

Can’t see wilder or Trestman losing, Ricky vs. Reilly is a toss-up, I’m obviously biased and in Ray’s camp.

In the National Post today the predictions were all the western nods except for Wilder, for what it’s worth.

I can't see how the Stamps started to slump near the end will give DD an advantage over Trestman, who turned his team around from worst to first. And that's why I think Jones' should've represented the West. All Reilly really has over Ray is his rushing ability. Reilly even got benched a few times IIRC.

Reilly had 12 rushing TD's...I sense he takes MOP.

Reilly lead the league in passing yards, tied for 1st with Harris for passing TD's, lead the league in rushing TD's, 1st in yards per attempt, and lead his team to a 12-6 record, compared to Ray's lead 9-9 Argos..

Yeah, Ray is more deserving of the MOP..................... /sarcasm.

Reilly will win, and deserves to win based on the year he had. But that takes nothing away from Ricky Ray, who also had a fantastic season. Some members of this forum completely wrote him off last year (and in 2015, 2014, even 2013 IIRC) as well as in the off-season (both before and after Trestman was hired and declared RR the starter). And yet here he is in the conversation for MOP, after passing for more than 300 yards a game, 27 TDs, 70% completion etc.

It is what it is and maybe Reilly is more deserving but let’s not drag that awful stat of QB “wins” into it.

How can Ray possibly win? He was old and washed up back when Collaros left. Speaking of which does anyone know how Collaros has been doing lately?

You don't like the QB state "win" either? This year in Hamilton, Jonathon Jennings got hurt after 1 play. Lions went onto win the game, so Jennings got the W. Seems like trying to compare pitchers in Baseball to quarterbacks in football.

If Ray weren't an Argo, how many here would still think he should win the MOP over Reilly ?

Gotta love how Collaros is somehow brought into this lol

Oh yes....also had it not been for that bogus PI call against SJ Green in week 15, Hamilton would have finished 1st in the East.

Gotta love how little credit you give Ray and Trestman. Same old boring offence....

No difference between Milanovich and Trestman... if only the Argonauts would run the ball...

    Lol
Pretty sure I've mentioned a few times now that I thought Ray played well this season.

Yes, it is pretty much the same offense (you guys do realize that Milanovich's "genius" was bringing Trestman's playbook with him to Toronto, right ?), but as I've stated right from the beginning: Trestman is a damn good coach and a much better play caller than Milanovich ever was. I even stated that I think Trestman should win the COTY. So, yeah not sure what you're trying to imply. You and a few others around here need to ease your bias against me, you might actually learn something.

Hey since we're bringing up random names that have nothing to do with this years MOP award, what happened to Whitaker ? I was told that he hadn't lost a step or two.

Also, still waiting to see if Drew Willy wins the Grey Cup as a starter before Collaros does.......

Ask and you shall receive. And if Ray throw for 7,000 yards and led the team to an 18-0 record, you still wouldn't give him the respect he deserves.

I always find it humourous that you disappear from here for a few days after Ray has a good game. Almost as if it really bugs you. Personally, I think you're just a troll that isn't an Argos fan at all, but go to the games only because you are displaced from your home city. Nothing wrong with that. I would buy season tickets in any market if I was living there. But hey, what else can I say. I have been known to think of you as a Mr Know it all anyways.
