I always find it humourous that you disappear from here for a few days after Ray has a good game. Almost as if it really bugs you. Personally, I think you're just a troll that isn't an Argos fan at all, but go to the games only because you are displaced from your home city. Nothing wrong with that. I would buy season tickets in any market if I was living there. But hey, what else can I say. I have been known to think of you as a Mr Know it all anyways.
I never noticed that, but thanks for pointing it out I suppose. It seems odd that you've become a little obsessed with me over the last year, tracking my posting days, talking about me on twitter for some reason, always chiming in on my posts etc. I think you may need to talk with someone about this, it may become more serious.

It is quite interesting to go back and read the "what are your honest expectations of this team" thread from the off-season.

Another one who seems way too interested in me. Aren't I on your ignored list ?

I don't see a clear-cut winner between Reilly and Ray. You can also throw in Nichols and Harris. Their stats were just as good.

As for Reilly's rushing TDs, something smell fishy. There's no way I'd keep my starter in on every short yardage situation the way the Esks did this year. It's as if they wanted to minimize Franklin's stats to make it easier to re-sign him.

I envision that Wilder and Trestman (perhaps Spencer) will be the only winners from the east.

Is Spencer really a ST ace in the East? Jackson is a better overall returner and got hosed with that one. Spencer gets touches but I dunno if he's really a great returner, deserving an award.

I wouldn't say Spencer was wholly undeserving of the award.

I think Finch wins the award unanimously, but Spencer had a decent season I suppose. About the same as Jackson's, although Spencer had less drops/fumbles.

TBH, I'm just glad that Paredes wasn't up for that award. IMO his efficiency ratings is considerably overrated, as Calgary's offense does a good job of getting him closer than some other teams do.

I think Ray gets extra points for doing what he did this season at his age.

Spencer was fantastic this season. He won games for the Redblacks. I didn't miss a single game. Ask an Ottawa fan if he was "decent, I suppose." They will roll their eyes at you.

On specials or on offence? Because Finch has done more in less games.

Wilder should win handily for Rookie of the Year.
Reilly's edge in passing yards, combined with his 12 TD's and big edge in rushing, as well as his better record in the red zone means he is a heavy favourite to win.
The Stampeders' three consecutive losses at the end of the season significantly increase Trestman's chances of winning. IMO, Marc's great rebuilding job carried out in short order earned him the award anyway.

As a receiver/returner, yes I would agree, but solely as a returner I thought Spencer was okay.

Finch is another game breaker. I expect him to win it, but it doesn't take away from Dionte's season. He was really good. "Decent," as posted by another, doesn't properly describe his accomplishments. I just like to see credit given, where it's due.

Since no one else has commented on the Jake Gaudar Veterans Award 2017 nominees, I'll paste the info on the Argos' nominee, Jamal Campbell. The award is given " to a Canadian CFL player who best demonstrates the attributes of Canada's veterans: strength, perseverance, courage, comradeship and contribution to Canadian communities". It's good to see that the Argos' community program is not only supporting the community, but generating players who themselves are carrying on this tradition. I think Jamal is a great nominee. Good on him for taking on this role so early in his career.
The other team's nominees can be found at the website below.

Living proof of the impact of CFL community programs, Jamal Campbell had never played football until Grade 10, when the Argos brought their “Level the Playing Field” program to his school. Campbell is now dedicated to giving back to his neighbourhood and supporting young people, working with the Boys and Girls club in North York and local programs for disadvantaged youth. With the Argos, Campbell has taken the time to learn multiple offensive line positions to put the team in a better position to succeed while reaching out to help American teammates feel at home and help his teammates prepare for games. Campbell is also a recipient of a Toronto Urban Hero Award in the Sports category for his outstanding work to help others in his neighbourhood.

Finch was the most dangerous returner I've seen in years. He looked like a threat to break it on every return. Having said that, the rookie out of Carleton, Adeleke looked pretty damn good in Finch's absence. Mark Kilam just may have a lot to do with these successes coordinating their ST's.

I expect Finch to get a unanimous vote.
It's us vs the rest of the country
