Shots fired near Argo practice in Ottawa this morning

A report in the Sun says gunshots were fired across the 417 close to the Argos first practice. Players were just arriving and getting off the bus. Police were on scene and the situation was under control.

Police said that a raving lunatic in a ratty BJ Birdie costume was waving an Uzi 9mm and ranting about Jason the Argonaut not being fly enough to hold BJs jockstrap.

Jason the Argonaut was not at Argo practice today as he was still in Toronto at city hall for the Argo flag raising (easy everyone. I said flag). When police pointed this out to BJ he immediately began screaming that it was all Paul Godfreys fault and the NFL should have been in Toronto by now.

Several policemen immediately tased BJ informing the disheveled bird that his diplomatic immunity had just been revoked.

Prosecutors commented that it is their hope BJ Birdie will never be free to fly his foul mouth again.

Absolutely. If someone was actually injured I would not have gone there. Just thought I bring some levity to what is indeed a serious news story.
