A lot of people on the Leafs subreddit are commenting on the game, how they're "not normally Argo or CFL fans" but were "jumping around like a madman" during the fumble return. One guy said he "should start watching the CFL and supporting our Argos" which is great. Leaf fans are some of the least supportive of the other teams, especially the Argos so that's a good sign for sure. Hopefully they don't forget when next season starts up

Marner, Flutie and Theismann were tweeting and I've seen a couple of soccer fans burying the hatchet so maybe this is better than not winning right away. It's going to be interesting to see how all this plays out. How many will be at the parade, how many season tickets will be sold, what will happen to attendance next year, what will be the TV rating with Toronto in the game.

Last year ratings were about 3.9 million IIRC,this year, with the addition of Toronto, Shania and the exciting game, I'm hoping for a 5 million average audience. If that doesn't happen I honestly believe it will be because of the cord cutting and lack of interest in all mainstream sports. I don't think anything about the GC this year can be faulted.

I'm high school teacher and this is how my students knew the Argos won! Thanks, Drake.

It was cold. It was snowing.

Being there though, what a thrill!

The footing was clearly an issue in the first half, but we now know that Danny Webb was prepared for that. The defence struggled for much of the night, but came up big when it counted.

I also bumped into Paul Woods at two separate en routes today.

So does Ray officially win the Ray-Collaros-Harris debate?

I'd still love to see Collaros back and return to form. Winning a Grey Cup in Double Blue before Drew Willy ever does.

Perry Lefko had an interesting thought today on the radio. He remarked how Collaros should reset, retool, maybe even relearn with the help of Ray and Trestman next season. At the right price, it's not a bad idea. When he becomes the starter in 2019, he can get a decent contract back.

As I said before these playoffs, if Ray can deliver us this Cup, he's the Greatest Argonaut QB of all time. 6 seasons, 2 Grey cups, multiple team records. There's a reason the guys call him the GOAT.

I'd like to see Ray brought back on an incentive type deal again, and do the same with Collaros if he becomes available. Good insurance in case anything happens with Ricky, and Collaros can reset under Ray and Trestman. Also gives time for some of the young guys to develop as well come to think of it.

Going to be an interesting off season, with Jennings potentially getting NFL looks, and guys like Lulay (doubt he leaves BC), Franklin (rumoured to want to try down South), Bridge, Masoli, and Harris all free agents. If the rumours are true about Franklin only wanting to sign a one yer deal in the CFL, I wouldn't even bother with him, as I want someone committed to the team. Plus Montreal needing a Head Coach and staff, the BC situation, and Atlantic expansion.

I'll wait a bit longer before going into the Argos off season needs, but I will say that a back-up (maybe even a starter depending on what ray wants to do) and locking up Himebauch are must IMO.

Ray returning and the team really going after signing Bridge: just 25 years old, a big talent, a GTA Canuck, further developing with Ray and Trestman. I wouldn't hesitate to label that easily the best, although I fear not the most probable, possible scenario.

Yes I was front and centre on that one.
I did apologize earlier in the year for my assessment of Ray being done and frankly he did not look good last year.
There are rumours how Collaros will likely be cut in the new year and the Argos might sign him with the hope his under study period with Ricky will rejuvenate to his play like when he was with the Cats and had MOP numbers before being injured.

It was never any doubt in my opinion. When Ricky Ray decides to hang em up, then we can have a discussion about the who evers.

The problem has always been who do we have when Ray goes down, not who's better. When Ray remarked that he should come back for two more years today, his teammates went nuts. They really love this guy, it's remarkable to see. I don't know if there is another QB in the league that would receive the level of respect and admiration that Ray gets. Great character, great teammate and great leader.

Whatever QB backs up Ray next year will be in a good place. The Argos are suddenly a desired destination. I don't know enough of Brandon Bridge's character, but he looks like a potential superstar. Would love to see him here next year learning from this team.

Ricky needs to come back so we can go back-to-back GCs again !!! This team kept together should be league best IMO.

Brandon Bridge would be a great pick-up IMO as a possible future QB; i still like Fajardo there too.

And this wasn't all that evident when the Argos were 4-7. Back then there were even whispers that ownership was looking for a big name QB to replace Ricky next year. They may have been quite justified in thinking at that point that Ricky Ray was just not going to sell many tickets going forward. But i'm sure they're not thinking that way anymore. The way the team rallied around Ricky as he came through in the clutch again and again -- this kind of turnaround doesn't happen very often in sports. Now people are tossing around GOAT when it comes to Ricky, and people in Toronto love GOATs, so maybe they actually can start selling tix on his name next year.

The wannabe city that stares at GOATS ? - should make a fine movie.

And I really wonder what Popp would do if the chance to sign an all-american hero like Johnny Football or Colin Kappernick presented itself? - his track record shows some fascination with American football heroes. He could sign Johnny/Colin Superstar and convince Ricky to become QB coach (at a vastly reduced salary of course, and with the proviso that Ricky un-retires if the unthinkable happened - Johnny/Colin Football not winning every game while smashing all CFL passing records.)

I am as guilty of criticizing Rod Black as the next guy, but I'd encourage you all to listen to his call of the fumble (18:30) and the rest of the game I suppose. He really did capture the emotion of it all.

That was exciting listening to that 4th quarter all over again. Rod Black made it sound more exciting than the TV calls even.
