Fan State of the League address

Kudos for the league for doing these, especially the Fan State of the League. It's hard to imagine Gary Bettman standing in front of fans and answering questions like this.
Faster + Louder = Better
I think the League should just stick with the Fan League address, as the fans seem to know what questions to ask, writers seemed to only be concerned with the two buzzwords: Concussions and CTE.
One question that I would've like to have seen asked is whether or not the League has spoken with the CIS about putting the Vanier and Grey Cup together again. I think it helps the Vanier with exposure and provides another date for the Grey Cup facility. Both win IMO.

What does everyone think about the idea of playing the Grey cup in late October ?
Personally, I think if the does get to 10 teams, I'd like to see a return to one bye week per team, and keep the Grey Cup at the end of November. I wouldn't be completely opposed to moving the Season up a week of two, but that's about it.
Late October would be stupid. The Grey Cup is perfectly fine when it's played.
As for 10 teams, I think multiple bye weeks for every team is here to stay due to player safety issues, so that would mean at least a 20-week schedule.
My thought is even further out there.
Reduce the regular season to 16 games. As long as NFLN is willing to pay the league enough to offset the loss of 1 home game revnues/don't impact player salaries. It would be better for the players less wear and tear.
Once they're at 10 teams, there would only be 1 bye week needed. 17 total weeks for the season.
Moving the Grey Cup from late November to 3rd week of October is a 5 week shift. The above scenario means the start of the season only needs to be moved up by 2 weeks which is doable in my view.
I'm completely against this idea. Adding 1 more pre season game isn't a good thing, and the notion that game played in "better" weather = more ticket sales is something only Len Rhodes believes (Terrible Exec. for the Esks IMO). Attendance issues occur during the summer games as well, and yet not one mention of it.
CFL Regular season starting on Canada Day weekend and the playoffs ending in November make the most sense to me.
Agreed on 18 games here to stay.
As for the NFL network - NBC Sports and the NFL Network are said to be interested, rumour floating around is that a deal could be close with the NFL. It would theoretically allow for more games to air on TV in the States, and CFL on ESPN games were comparable to MLS tv numbers FWIW.
I have no interest in seeing the CFL season end earlier. At least as it stands now, November is as much the CFL's month as anyone else's.
