    Schedule to be released today?

The Eskimos schedule got out by accident and apparently it is legitimate.

We know that the Argos will play the Eskimos at BMO on Saturday, July 7 at 1:30 PM (I assume that's Alberta time). The Argos will travel to Edmonton and play the Eskimos on Friday, July 13 at 7:00 PM (again I assume Alberta time).

The Eskimos' first preseason game is on May 27.

This is incredibly early compared to years past but would be great to see, 3 years ago it felt like it was mid april before it came out (skydome days). I prefer being able to schedule around Argos home dates vs. leaving it to chance, hate hate missing home games.

With the schedule being released early, as an avid flex pack purchaser, I should be able to purchase them earlier in the off season, correct?

I like the schedule. Moslty Saturday games and only 1 mid week being Thursday for TNF.

I notice the start times on the Saturdays vary allot ranging from 1 pm to a few prime time spots. I wonder if that was done for TV purposes.

I like that our season opener is not vs. Hamilton. A Grey Cup rematch off the back.

Notice the TBD for the pre season game. My guess is they want to do a day game mid-week to bring school kids down. My contact at BMO suggested something like this last year but it never happened.

Overall, I'm very pleased with it!

There is only 8 pre-season games on the schedule rather than 9. My guess is Ottawa at Toronto is still yet to be determined. Possibly a TD Atlantic game? It would make sense to announce this with a tentative expansion announcement. Either that or waiting for TFC schedule to come out before the date is confirmed.

This is a great schedule. Only 1 non weekend game (Monday -Thursday excluding Labour Day) all season, home and away. Best schedule I have ever seen.
It's us vs the rest of the country

I'm glad we brought back the LD rematch. Nothing was better than beating the kitties on LD and then smoking them a week later at home.

So they moved the season forward two weeks, it's a done deal already. Ambrosie sure doesn't dither when it comes to getting things done.

I think/hope we'll have more roster continuity than usual, so we could probably manage with one preseason game. It would be nice if there was another announcement coming, but if so, why not just hold the whole schedule back?

It was moved up when Ottawa came into the League and Ambrosie announced that the League would move it up another week to add a 3rd bye for each team to eliminate teams playing twice in the same week, or 3 games in 14 days etc.

The talk of moving up the season is actually to move up the Playoffs and Grey Cup, not the same thing IMO.

Because I would've lost my patience.

In all seriousness, I read that the CFL was intending to release the schedule next week but that the Eskimos leaked it by accident.

There is no way Toronto and Ottawa will play 1 pre season game while the rest of the league plays 2

Call it a week and a half. Argos season opener next year is 10 days earlier than it was this year.

My guess is a midweek afternoon game between the two, with at least the TDSB involved.

Wobbler, it would make zero sense to hold up the earliest schedule release in memory (maybe ever) for the sake of one preseason game announcement affecting just one market. Teams can now sell ticket packages before Christmas with actual dates attached.

Yes. Plus we have evenly spaced bye weeks, only two stretches with tight turnaround (and both are followed by byes) and we get 8 of last 12, including last 4, against division rivals. Bravo!

Scheduling shouldn't be rocket science and the commissioner has produced one of the earliest and most player friendly schedules ever. I have only looked at the Argos and Redblacks schedules. Nobody plays more than 2 road games in a row and only once is there a game played in less than 6 days. Randy Ambrosie gets things done. It is great to have someone with passion and vision for our game. He may not have had much to do with the MLSE deal (according to him), but I am sure he will be front and centre to help to put our team back on the map in Toronto.

Having said that my preference is not to move the playoffs into October for future years. The CFL has owned the month of November when it comes to the sports calendar in Canada for decades. I really don't want to mess with that especially in our Toronto market as we may just be on the cusp of righting the ship within the marketplace here. Why would the CFL want to compete with the NHL/NBA playoffs in June and then opening month of the NHL/NBA in October, MLB playoffs in October? It is vital to the league to fix the Toronto market, as well as Montreal and Vancouver. Please do that first before messing with 100 years of tradition. I am surprised Saskatchewan is pushing so hard for this. Their fanbase would attend games outdoors in February.
    GO ARGOS!!!
