Also announced are the signings of Ken Bishop, Chandler Worthy and Brian Tyms. The dominos are going to fall quickly now that the Ricky Ray situation has been resolved.

I know the resigning of Bishop may not be welcome by some fans, but I really thought he was the teams best run stopper in the limited amount he played last year. Good to see Tyms brought back as well.
Getting SJ back was obviously very important for the team, but it's also good to see the signing of Bishop, Tyms and Worthy, who far from being the first names that come to mind when you think of the Argo roster, do mean that, along with Green, we no longer have just three potential free agents extended on the eve of free agency and they also provide some depth. Tyms time in Hamilton suggests he could make a significant contribution as his being cut by the Tiger Cats was in part a reflection of their depth at receiver last year.
While the re-signings today are good news, I am concerned that both Jermaine Gabriel and Liram H. remain unsigned.
Canadian depth is important, and Liram played extremely well under pressure last year.
Gabriel was hurt partially, but its safe to assume Black is unlikely to be back.
Losing both Canadians starter safety's would be a blow.
3Downnation reports that Steve Walsh, a coach for the Argos has just signed with Saskatchewan to be their QB coach.
Hearing the @TorontoArgos have re-signed Canadian DB and Grey Cup hero @MattBlack39. Was due to become a free agent Tuesday. #CFL #Argos
Probably was a good fit for Popp and Trestman. Bishop has a few year CFL experience, can play in the League and I expect cap friendly. Not saying somebody better turns up at TC. But right now they have good depth behind Wynn. I think Bishop could take a few turns at RE, especially if he dropped few pounds.
Per Cassius Vaughan's Twitter - he has re-signed with the Argos.
Another DB back in the fold.

Excellent! It seemed like we got a lot of mileage out of him last year, and he might have been difficult to replace.
Great to see Cassius back.
I'm a little surprised that Matt Black was re-signed. Pleasantly surprised but surprised nonetheless since he had been released at one point last year. Great to see Cassius Vaughn signed as well. We can always use a guy that can take it 109 yards the other way.
At minimum, he is insurance in case Gabriel departs as a FA. Also a great team guy who deserves another contract for the way he handled himself after being cut. I think Woodson has potential to develop into a starter, but I'd really like Gabriel back and would be happy to have Black on the roster all through 2018.

Barring any last minute transactions the Argos re-signed 8/23 (35 %) of their pending FA's. That's about middle of the road if not slightly below the average. I'm not going to be overly pleased if the Argos lost both their starting corners.
