In FG%, Medeios was marginally higher than QVG at 76.5% while Pfeffer was well below at 50%. Medeiros (47.6) and Pfeffer (47.3) beat his punting average of 42.5 in college as does every other punter except Josh Bartel.

In the kicking game especially, college stats need to be taken with a grain of salt. Many college kickers perform better at the pro level where the long snaps are better as is the coaching and repetition. 3 FG attempts is hardly any way to judge a guy at this level.

I agree but he is beating almost no one on either FG or punting at the CFL so I understand that if he didn't show improved performance with the Argos, he is more likely to be dismissed quickly than someone with a better college record or if he had managed to stick to one of the other teams that had him for a while.

It does seem to take some time for kickers, especially Canadian ones, to come into their own (Lewis Ward being a notable exception). Lauther in Saskatchewan kicked for the Ticats five years ago and has been trying to get back to the CFL since; now, he is lights out. Medeiros has improved since his first stint in Toronto; both his and Pfeffer's punting have been superb; Medeiros has been better than Pfeffer with his placekicking but he seems to miss one makeable kick per game that ends up hurting the team. I do think that Medeiros and Pfeffer still have lots of potential to be all-star kickers though.

The point is, we have four weeks left to evaluate talent for next season. This is precisely when we should be adding guys to the PR. Don't be surprised if some guys on the PR now get released (and maybe re-signed for 2019) to open up spots for newcomers.

They both have good college stats. Could be future starters. Popp's finally bringing in some guys for a look and see is they're worthy of an invite to next years TC.

I took a look at some of Winbrush's video. He seems like he may be a good fit for the CFL at DE since he is more of a hybrid style player between DE and LB, if he can get a step into the OL he seems to have good moves but we would have to see if it translates.

Good GM’s are alway thinking ahead and trying to improve.
Argos need to maximize the long term benefits of playing these last 4 games.

I feel after some thought that the delay in getting some guys in may be due to them having looked at AAFL first. Since these vents were both let go before the NFL season started

Quite possible, I’m sure most players will explore all options before signing anywhere.

I like seeing the 25 sacks by DE Winbush as we definitely need improvement there whether its by him or someone else.

Kicker Felix Menard-Briere, who spent time with the Argos recently, has signed with the Riders.

This will be Menard-Briere's fifth team in his rookie season. He has already been with Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and now Saskatchewan. He has tantalizing potential IMO. I guess that Drew Brown must have out-kicked him during practice though. I am surprised that Menard-Briere didn't stick in Toronto.

It's interesting that the Argos resigned Caleb Ham, Tracy's son, whom Popp/Trestman released before TC in May after he was signed in January by Barker. He had also been released by Montreal this month after being signed in September. Is this signing simply the fact there is now an expanded roster or is there more to it?
