That was a surprise to me resigning Waters. Nothing against him but he will take up a valuable Import spot that Trestman used to keep some players fresh in a rotation. Also he does seem to get injured easily just kicking the ball. I thought it would be a slam dunk for Hajrullahu to be resigned. Did a good job IMO and a Canadian to boot. I would hope Waters came a lot cheaper than the 145,000 Hajrullahu is suppose to have signed for in Hamilton. Otherwise I don't get it.
Would rather have Murray instead of Sears. White instead of Heath. Both probably got more money in Ottawa and Montreal. Maybe Popp is saving up to extend Wilder. lol Looks like the Argos are going with young second year guys in the defensive backfield to save money. Darby, Ford, Mitchell will all be in their option year like Wilder around the minimum.

I think the extra cash on the QB's has a lot to do with the moves. You also failed to mention Harris, who was pretty good for a first year guy last year. I expect him and Ford to both start in the secondary this year.

How about recently-released Muamba at MLB? Is anyone else looking for a MIKE starter at this point? The price might be reasonable...

I too have reservations about both Heath and Waters. As OV says, let's hope that there is stiff competition at both positions and if they subsequently come out on top, then fine.

I am not all that crazy about Maher either. I think I would take a healthy Waters over Maher. My perception is that Maher can be a bit more erratic kicking field goals. Who knows though? Maybe Pfeffer really comes into his own in training camp and wins the K/P job outright.

Taylor Reed is out there as well, unless I've missed him re-signing. A glut of MLBs pricing themselves out of the market?

I think you may want to head over to cfl.ca and look at the stats Ravi. Aside from Maher's first year in the CFL, Waters has been significantly more erratic kicking field goals.

Why do I get the feeling that Swayze Waters somehow became yet another Argo Legend.

Noted, but the statement that Maher is more erratic compared to Waters is just plain false.

Still some decent players available: OL Matt Albright, DB Jerrell Gavins, K Brett Maher, DB Josh Mitchell, LB Bear Woods, DL Michael Atkinson, DL Evan Gill, K Quinn Van Gylswyk, DL Michael Klassen, LB Alex Hoffman-Ellis (if healthy), DL Craig Roh, DB Ronnie Yell, OL Derek Dennis, LB Henoc Muamba, LB/DE Glenn Love.

If Dennis has a chip on his shoulder and comes cheap, I'd bring him in.
