It would appear that J'Michael Deane is retiring. I don't really remember how much he played last year, but that's less depth on the OL than what the Argos had before.

He started off and on. I believe he was injured late in the year and did not dress in the post season? Hope his post football career is good to him.

I think Deane started five or six games at RG, but none down the stretch. I hate losing depth on the o-line, but can't force a guy to keep playing. Hopefully J Campbell and Kolankowski are well set up as Nos. 6 and 7 on the depth chart, with Sackey perhaps moving up to No. 8.

Peter Dyakowski is still floating around as potential veteran depth if the Argos are interested.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

Kansas City is 4 and 5 deep on both OT's where Ryan Hunter is listed. But only 2 deep at Guard. Looks like a PR spot for him this year. I really can't see him available until maybe a year from September if at all. With Holmes, McEwen and Van Zeyl the probable starters I can't see Dyakowski signing as a back up, but if one of those guys are injured that might change.

I would bring him in only if a vet gets hurt. I'd just as soon see Watman on the roster.

Our 2018 draft selections could be interpreted as a statement of confidence in our current OL starters and backups.

3DownNation reports the Argos have signed former Calgary DE Frank Beltre. If I were Archer, I would convert him to MLB.

Moves seems unclassy on the eve of training camp.

Matthews was already the odd man out - perhaps they threw him a bone and he ends up signing in Winnipeg to be the backup.

The nature of sports. If someone that they prefer to look at comes along, there are only so many roster spots available. Obviously, they know what Matthews brings, and decided to use the roster spot on a recent signing like Beltre.

Not surprised as I didn't see him making it out of TC.
Popp seems serious with getting the CDN QB's reps. Also in the media release yesterday Trestman mentioned Franklin is completing with returnees Prudkop and BT. No mention of Mathews.

Neither did I and it gives Mathews more of an opportunity to catch on somewhere.

Perhaps Matthews was released a couple weeks ago but it has just been announced.

You're not going to thank him for his services and wish him well in all future endeavors?

DT Evan Gill, DT Hassan Berry, and OT DJ Park were signed today.

Gill is interesting. He was a Hamilton first rounder in 2014, but seemed to be perpetually injured. Not unlike Kevin Waud...

It would be wrong if I wished other players that were released well in their future endeavors and not Matthews.

Well, if your going to get his first name wrong, in this case better Kevin than Johnny.
