So, in addition to Reed, we have added Woods, Sears Jr., and Coombs to the 6 game IR. Do we stick Ralph in Coombs' spot, or do something more creative?

Having Coombs on the 6 day injury list makes even more difficult to understand why Morris was cut.
I wasn't at camp, but based on how he was used in the PS games I think Morris was trying out at TB rather than SB. Still, I also expected him to make the team as a backup to Wilder and possible kick returner. Altho keep in mind there are often surprising roster moves before week 1 games that don't end up being permanent.

Whoops---when commenting on Coombs I mistakenly said 6 day injury list ---sorry obviously meant 6 game. Must learn to proof read!
When indicating surprise at the Morris release, I expected that being a RB who appears to be able to catch, he would have been a candidate to slide into Coomb's spot. However as Paul correctly points out there are often a lot of surprising roster moves prior to week 1.
With no Coombs and no Morris I was a little concerned about Wilder taking too many snaps at TB and possibly burning out, until I read that Sportsnet article which suggested that Martese Jackson was going to take a bigger role in the offence this year, which I assume means more snaps at TB. That is going to be one hell of a change of pace for defences to contend with, and I can't wait to see what The Professor has cooked up for those particular packages.
Glad to see the Argos put International Brandon Burks on the PR as he looked good against the RedBlacks, going 8/51 rushing as well as showing he can catch passes out of the backfield in both preseason games. However, I'm sorry to see National RB Greg Morris cut.
Wonder if, as a result of some roster moves, they asked Morris to go on PR and he declined. It has happened before and it may be the case this time.
We signed speedy Myles White today. He was a 4.40 runner in his draft year, but that was five years ago. If he can still hustle, perhaps he can be the stretch guy we're all looking for. Mind you, he was in the Bombers camp (and cut) this summer, so it would be unwise to expect a miracle.
The club announced today the release of INT WR Brian Tyms and INT LB Khalil Bass.

Not surprised about Tyms.
I was thinking that they'd wait on Bass until the other LBs are healthy (maybe they are now)

So why did they start Tyms again last game instead of sitting him? All I ever see from Bass is him taking photos with his gf on insta lol
So are we fully committed to Rodney Smith at WR now? I'm not expecting much from the receiving corps until that is sorted out and Coombs is available.
It is a little disappointing that the team, knowing they had to replace Posey, were unable to sign a speedy receiver to fill that spot. Perhaps Alford, Smith or White could be that player but only time will tell. At least the coaching staff has the break to get a good handle on the three.
Please don't link-and-run.
We traded a neg list player to Saskatchewan for DE Eric Striker, presumably to see if he can help our pass rush.
Interesting to observe, Striker has gone directly onto the active roster not the PR. Looks as if he is slated to take Plummer's place. Plummer impressed last year and is presently on the one game injury list but perhaps is injury is more serious than first thought.
Described as a classic tweener for the NFL-short but quick, he might be a better fit for the larger CFL field. Seems to have good potential but will need to show quickly if he can do the job.
