3downnation is reporting that the Argos worked out Dexter McCluster the other day, which is a bit of an eyebrow raiser considering he's turning 30 this year, but man this guy had exceptional talent good enough for the Pro Bowl in 2013. He's like Martese Jackson Plus, a tiny kick return specialist, but he also had 250 carries in the NFL which is amazing for a guy his size. Makes me wonder about Jackson's future.

As predicted by Dunk last week.
The man was explosive at both the SEC and NFL level. His injury was not a Leg or Knee Injury he broke his arm I believe. IF he is at or near the same level he will be super fun to watch. Hope he gets on the field this weekend to return some kicks.
I think explosive at the NFL level is a bit of a stretch.
I'm just not expecting much from a guy that hasn't played since early in the 2016 NFL season. His punt return stats steadily went down from year to year and 2013 was really his only big year in that regard and kickoff return numbers average at best. I don't want to just hand playing time to a guy that not only hasn't played in forever, but also hasn't even had a CFL training camp. Martese Jackson looked very dangerous on Friday night, and there is no way I'm taking him out to bring in a guy that may or may not be for real.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Ha, Ha; but i'd much rather see Brian Jones - big, athletic, experienced & productive slotback in college ball, get to play receiver over an H-back type who did little in college ball; Gingras-Gagnon has looked good in a bit of action and is a good back-up for Cross.
Receiving corps I'd like to see (with Coombs still out) - Green, Edwards and Jones inside; with Noel, Ralph and that big rookie import (Smith) alternating at the 2 WR spots.
Yep - Jackson is a kick returner who does not look like a very capable RB, IMO.
A change of pace back to Wilder might be nice, but Wilder needs lots of work to get going; bang him and the run game more; and it might be nice to see Cross get a few carries as maybe more of a change of pace back who can punish defenders with some power; Wilder has speed to get the edge on more stretch or sweep type runs; and if not, find a better alternative to Jackson.
He is likely an upgrade on Martese at RB and receiver as Jackson has not performed well at either of these, but Jackson has been a very good returner so it remains to be seen whether McCluster can match him let alone beat him as a returner, even if seven years in the NFL has not worn down his skills.
McCluster won't be better than any other player up here if he doesn't get some run blocking, but maybe he can stretch the field on a deep pattern. The defenses are too fast and the pursuit relentless for any back to have any great success in the CFL. At 5'8 170 McCluster IMO will be just used something like Jackson but maybe more as a receiver than Martese.
