As rumoured, the Bombers have signed Rider National WR/returner Nic Demski, who at 24 is already was one of the best National receivers available in free agency and who has a promising career ahead of him. Going to his hometown was one of the incentives in signing with Winnipeg. He signed for around $150,000, including a $35,000 bonus.

GM Ed Hervey said one of his goals in free agency was to improve the Lion OL, which led the league in sacks given up in 2017. With the signing of International OT Joel Figueroa from the Eskimos he has done that.

The Riders beside releasing OT Derek Dennis have also released have also released Internationals DL Antonio and LB Glen Love giving them more free agent money, some of which they used to sign National DL Zach Evans from Ottawa, where he had played for four years following two years with Riders, for $170,000.
