In releasing RBs Kienan Lafrance and Shakir Bell, the Riders have added two players to the free agent list.
Bell was already scheduled to become a free agent on February 13th and did not play last year due to injury, so if he gets a contract offer it will be a low one.
Cutting Lawrence enabled the Riders to avoid paying a $20,000 bonus.

Winnipeg appears ready to let former Argo TJ Heath go in free agency. I know opinions were strongly divided on losing him in the Drew Willy trade. Should the Argos go after him if he's available?

It appears the CFL team is also prepared to let all-star defensive back T.J. Heath walk via free agency

He wouldn't be my first choice. My first choice would be the pending FA's the Argos had last season such as Mitchell White or Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.

I would re sign White and I would go after Heath. He is always around the ball. Not sure the cash is there to do both. In a perfect world.

DB is not an area of urgent need, IMO. We have talent and depth there. Why overpay in free agency for an over-30 DHB?

I agree with both of these gentlemen. Let's try re-signing our own DBs and not potentially overpay for a DB on the wrong side of 30 who I don't believe is as good as what the Argos already have.

I thought White hinted to you he had already resigned with the Argos. I think they would want him back. Good cover guy.

The Riders have extended DE Willie Jefferson through the 2018 season.

Jefferson’s re-signing drops Saskatchewan’s number of pending free agents to 11. That group comprises defensive linemen A.C. Leonard, Ese Mrabure and Eddie Steele, offensive linemen Bruce Campbell and Dan Clark, running backs Spencer Moore and Greg Morris, receivers Devon Bailey and Nic Demski, linebacker Otha Foster III and kicker Quinn van Gylswyk.
That figure had fallen to 12 on Saturday when the Roughriders announced they had released cornerback Kacy Rodgers II so that he could pursue an NFL contract.

Maurice Leggett has signed a year extension with the Bombers.

With Leggett locked up, it will be interesting to see if Walters will turn his attention to fellow defensive back T.J. Heath.
Heath had five interceptions last year with the Bombers and is a player Leggett described as a ball hawk, and someone he would like to see back with the team in 2018.
The Bombers have several players who are likely to hit the free agent market next week.
They include towering offensive lineman Travis Bond, receivers Clarence Denmark and Julian Feoli-Gudino, along with defensive back Kevin Fogg, defensive end Jamaal Westerman, defensive tackle Jake Thomas and linebackers Sam Hurl and Kyle Knox.
