Noel Thorpe the new DC in Ottawa

Big pickup IMO. I still think Ottawa needs a lot more talent, but Thorpe is an elite CFL DC. Also good to see Nelson being kept around even though he's getting a demotion.

Thorpe is a good DC IMO, solid move by Ottawa.

Agreed - especially on the Ottawa needing more talent part - their pass rush was plain too weak, with 2 ultra mediocre imports starting at DE as the season wore on; their D-backfield (outside of Pruneau - best safety in the league IMO) was iffy and inexperienced; and their LB corps is nothing much either (Reed is just not enough of a play-maker at MLB IMO, and the other 2 spots should be up for grabs too).

Be interesting to see if Thorpe sticks with a lot of their starters or makes a lot of changes. And Nelson getting a demotion but sticking around is kinda interesting (?); him, Thorpe plus Blugh as D-line coach = a lot of experience on the D side and maybe they could mold a much better unit now.
