Wow, that sure looks like something to do with boats.

If it there is a change, I'm hoping it includes modifications to the whole uniform. I personally prefer the look from 2017/18 and also enjoy the light blue numbers on the current kit but I am not a fan of the lack of striping on the sleeves nor any kind of logo on the jersey itself.
Good on the Argos to do something now though. Some kind of market awareness would be very good for them. Honouring their history with oars and boats somehow in their uniform would be wise.

The new uniforms were a complete disaster, the Argos colour scheme and overall look has historically been amongst the best in pro football now not even close.
Let’s hope they come to their senses and rectify the situation, uniform and logo change would surely help merchandise sales.

Entirely possible that the logo on the helmet will change while the uniforms remain the same, but I think the boat logo is coming back and here is another hint:

Good news and long overdue. I'm OK with the blue football as opposed to the brown one.
Excellent news, long overdue. Keeping the shield as a secondary logo is also a smart move.
I do wonder how the new logo will look on helmets. The football/boat is a large element that would appear to be the same colour (Oxford) as our primary helmets have been. Guessing it will blend in unless there is a white outline on the football. Or maybe Cambridge helmets?

Great news!
I actually prefer the original, brown boat/football. It had more of this "bold" look. This logo quietly blends in and doesn't stand out, especially on the new merchandise.
I'm thankful that the football is blue rather than brown and I also appreciate the more modern "A" that was used since 91. I think they will look very sharp on the helmet. I'm also thankful that the shield logo is still going to be in use as a secondary logo as these are the 2 best logos in franchise history.
What's interesting though is that this logo is very much the same as the one created in 1994 (except that logo had a black football, see Will's avatar on the first post in this thread). I remember it being stated that the logo didn't get onto the helmets in time for that season but would be there the next but then they completely rebranded and went with the new Jason logo. Was John Candy the one responsible for going back to the boat logo and then the change in ownership the reason that they didn't?
I guess in a way, this logo might honour Candy as well if this was true.
That would be a great story if true. I've never heard anything like that, and Candy's involvement in the org appears to have waxed and waned throughout 1993 and into the final few months of his life. I know he was deeply involved in bringing Obie back in 1993, but was also disenchanted with McNall. My sense is that he probably wasn't deep enough in the weeds to be working on logos, but I would love to find out he was.

And now that I think about it, the timing is off. He had already passed away at this point which is why they had the JC star on their jerseys. However, someone pushed for that logo in 94 but it wasn't ready in time and then they abandoned the idea the following season. I'd love to know the story as to why.

Notice how the water under the boat of the new logo matches the jersey sleeves of the 2012 Grey Cup Champion Argos? Maybe these are coming back too - let's hope so
Sleeve stripes are definitely a must.

Always loved the early 80’s boat logo, the updated logo looks amazing on the helmet!
Really like the stripes at the bottom of the logo as well, hopefully they update and fix the current uniform to complete the overhaul.
