    Argonauts Player #'s

    Hi all,
I haven't been on this site in a long time.
Football hasn't been on the front burner in awhile.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has a good online resource for former Argo players by number and not by name only.
I think I know of all the usual suspects sites but few consistently have player #'s.

Winnipeg has this resource and it is fantastic!

    https://www.bluebombers.com/blue-by-the-numbers/

Thanks in advance for any info,
    Al

I was looking for a similar list in the spring/summer. I do not believe, however, an official one exists. I do agree it would be a great idea.

    That's actually a great idea!
Unfortunately, Toronto's webpages and alumni website isn't quite what other teams are. Hamilton's alum site is also very good.

This site offers rosters and player numbers... unfortunately it's presented in seasonal slices.

This is a very useful site. Unfortunately it appears the uniform numbers are gone after 1974, but if someone were to use this as a starting point to a database, it would be relatively easy to piece together information from 1975 on since media guides and game programs of that vintage (and more recent) are not super scarce. The biggest issue is guys who played only a game or two and weren't in camp or the media guides -- the only way to get their numbers would be from programs.

Newspapers.com might be a helpful resource in compiling such a list.

This link from CFLAPEDIA might be helpful.

I copy and pasted it into excel and sorted the # column from smallest to largest. It is incomplete and I believe isn't current to 2019 but it is a good starting point.

That is an excellent starting point. It is obviously not 100% accurate, but better than anything else I've seen. (Just as one example of how it could be augmented, both Jim Kardash and Blaine Schmidt regularly wore two different numbers depending on where they played. Kardash is shown with both 63 and 73, but Schmidt is shown only with 54 even though he also wore 78. Still, excellent find, Will.)

That was crazy back in those days where an offensive lineman had have a receiver numbered sweater quickly pulled on to then race on to field to line up as a TE, while the seconds ticked off.

A couple of others I noticed were Keith Kelly (wore 25 in 1990, 24 in 1991 when Rocket took 25) and Andre Durie, who is listed as wearing 13 (which he did, at first) but is remembered y fans for wearing 32.

    Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I have used all the above methods for reference points. I never thought of cutting and pasting into excel though.
That way it can at least be sorted by # etc. As pointed out though, lots missing.
May be be a winter lockdown project...
