Condell gets second interview for Alouettes’ head coaching job

    http://3downnation.com/2017/12/11/to...-coaching-job/

I would really hate to lose Condell (I'd be pissed actually), I could see him heading to Montreal or BC to be the Lions OC. If he lands in Montreal, I'd expected Collaros to land there as well.

It would be really nice if someone took Brady away, but I don't see that happening.

Yeah, would be nice to lose an offensive coordinator that has been with the team for 2 Grey Cup victories in 6 years. SMH.

Condell is very likely gonna be Mtl's head coach, IMO, with Collaros as his QB. Good for Tommy, who stepped up when we needed help last winter and took a role below his ability on the coaching staff.

Trestman called the plays this year, and Brady wasn't here in for the 2012 Grey Cup, he was hired on December 3rd 2012. Interesting that Brady's name never comes up when there's a job opening, no ?

As of right now, it looks like it's between Condell and Washington. In either case, I think Condell is gone, either as HC in Montreal, or OC in BC or MTL.

They need to stabilize that franchise with a coach like Condell who will be able to stay on for years.
A potential loss for us, but overall good for the league scenario.

Mavis might be doing something half way smart for a change ?

Not sold at all on Condell as a CFL HC, but that he at least has some experience, plus could likely (?) bring a QB with success & experience (Collaros) with him, would be a huge bonus for a team in desperate mode there.

The Argos and the rest of the league should hope Mavis hires Mark Washington or some other ultra un-qualified GOB hanger on (former player, retires, then get handed a key CFL coaching or decision making position within a few years - wow, what a super football coaching apprenticeship & resume - like Mr. Ed)

I thought it would be Washington hired as the new HC in Montreal. Condell may be being offered the Off. Co-ord. plus assistant HC.

Washington would have to be being looked as the HC, as a coordinator job would be a lateral move for him. Still won't create much interest in Montreal IMO. Especially in the Francais community. Either way Kavis won't be bringing in a Veteran Head Coach who would want full authority.

BTW. I wonder if the last Comissioner's rule is still in effect on hiring other team's Coaches.

Mark Washington will be a HC in this league one day. He's a great guy and the league would be all the better for it. I just think it will happen in BC instead of Montreal.

Mark Washington just withdrew from consideration Re: HC job in Montreal.

    Chamblin, Claybrooks, and Washington out.

Condell has to be the odd on favourite now.

LOL that's three now that have taken themselves out of the running, I guess no one wants to be the Head Coach of a tire fire. Hopefully Condell comes to the same realization as the others and withdraws his name. I still think we'll lose him though.

No shit. Kavis said he intended to have the new coach in place by mid December. Tomorrow is the 15th. Tick tock.

I saw on Twitter that former Winnipeg OC Gary Crowton was also in the running for HC. He struggled as the Bombers OC a few years back.

I think the Argos will lose him too. An OC job is still a promotion for him (as you know).

With Jarious Jackson being named the Lions OC, that's one less spot for Condell. I'd love to see Brady given the boot and Condell named our Offensive Coordinator, even if it is just a title, as Trestman runs the offense.

Again, why would you give the boot to the offensive coordinator of the team that just won the championship. I know that you say Trestman is the man that calls the plays, but I've been to a number of practices over the past year. Brady is running the offence in practice. I think I'll trust Trestman's evaluation of Brady at this point.

I would also hate to lose Condell though. Seeing the way he works on the little details with the receivers is likely a reason the Argos receivers did so well this season without the benefit of a so called burner. Their receivers run great routes not only to open things up for themselves, but more so for their fellow receivers.

Only two CFL landing spots right now, Montreal's OC and Saskatchewan Passing game Coordinator and QB coach. We'll see I suppose, but I'd really like to see the team keep around guys like Condell and Himebauch.
