I said at the time that the Willy trade will prove out to be a massive success for the Argos in 2017. I was right. Thanks Scott and Jim.

Haha...yup, I guess it caused the demise of a previous regime and ushered in a new one. I'm just glad that it all worked out. Such a special season.
I guess thanks should be in order, their incompetence lead to us obtaining Popp and Trestman lol.
Things really went south for both guys in 2016 but I still believe they are both good football men who did build our 2012 World Championship team.

18 Time World Champions
Barker was a good recruiter (mostly, albeit he had some blind spots in the secondary) who ran the team (and won a championship) under an owner who refused to spend money, and through a period of horrendous schedules that created a huge disadvantage for the team. He definitely deserves another shot somewhere. Milanovich had his flaws as a coach, but he is a good man and he, too, deserves credit for winning a championship despite having to play the Eastern Final on the road against a powerhouse Montreal team. I don't know if he and his coaching colleagues can squeeze a playoff victory out of Blake Bortles, but he deserves to do well and I'm pulling for him.

Barker and Milanovich should be commended for holding it together in a completely compromised environment. Same may even characterize it as 'bush league.'
Many players didn't want to come to Toronto. We had a bad football program.
They deserve all the credit in the world for winning the Grey Cup, but I think time caught up with them. The circumstances wore them down.
When JB started, he showed to be a better than average recruiter who gets points for solid bushwacking finds & some key reclamation projects too.
He was able to keep some good football players around and build enough continuity to win that championship. He hired a good young offensive mind in Scott.
The circus atmosphere; moving training camps, and so called practice facilities, the fire -- is not on them.
Ultimately, however, their records were unremarkable and it was time to move on after they were taking hacks and missing more times than not at the end.
I think Barker deserves another chance in a good program (if not in Broadcasting), and I wish SM all the success in the world with Jacksonville. Looks like he's doing a hell of a job.
We may see him back in the CFL again someday, or if all works out for him, as a OC in the NFL. He's learning and getting better all the time.
Interesting that Milanovich seems to be getting most if not all the credit for the Jaguars and Bortles moderate successes both on here and throughout the CFL media. Marrone and Hackett must be scrubs.
I'm sure he has as well. I just find it odd that Marrone (former oc) and Hackett (Jags current OC) aren't getting any credit. Hackett completely revamped the offense.
Admittedly I'm very thankful for Milanovich leaving on his own. Saved our owners some money and we got a much better coach out of it (Trestman).
Your hatred for Milanovich seems to know no bounds, SnowRogue. Maybe time to let it go.

Barker and Milanovich won the Grey Cup with the Argonauts in four years. That's more than you can ask from a HC and GM duo.
