    Absolute Gimmick football. What is even less popular in the US than Spring football? Spring Gimmick football.

    Remember the XFL when instead of the kickoff the two guys ran towards the ball and IIRC the very first time one of the guys got injured.

    I don't think spring football is the issue, the USFL damn near made it, might have done if it wasn't for a certain NFL wannabe named Trump. But since then no one has showed the desire or resources to stay with it for the long haul.

    The USFL hurt the CFL a bit because the CFL raised salaries and it hurt them. They learned that lesson and hopefully won't repeat it.

    The USFL outbid the NFL for players. No spring league today can do that.
